Pod 51 Hotel

Brilliant hotel at a price that's unmatched in the midtown area. Great for my 2 day business trip and just one issue from my side; the wifi was very poor in room and I had to work in the lobby to get a decent signal.

Although the room was fairly small, it was very clean. Shared restrooms were always cleaned but don't try to shower around 9am. That's when everyone tries to shower. Perfect location as it was close to the subway.

Of course, we didn't visit New York to spend time in the room, but the bathroom was pretty small. It was difficult to turn around in the shower! The room was clean and otherwise comfortable, and the location was great with subway and many restaurants close by.

I had a room with shared bathroom so while this was fine it was still a different experience to having your own room. The room itself was small but big enough for 1-2 nights with tv,small desk,sink and hanging rail. The ground floor garden and roof top area are great and the staff are very helpful. There is also a shuttle to the airports which is handy.

This Hotel has a great location. Quiet neighborhood, great people and just close enough to Times Square. Love it!

Cramped room, but functional and clean. Noisy - I could hear everything going on in the halls - talking, vacuuming. The location is great! The lounge is comfortable; the cafe is convenient - has a limited, but adequate menu - even has outdoor seating. I'd stay again.

Great location well located near many bus lines, lots of good restaurants and the area is quiet as compared to some areas of New York. I always enjoy staying there. Staff are quite nice, rooms are clean and QUIET. Bell staff, esp. Luis, are quite friendly and helpful also. I recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Compact cool, light, airy, clean and well-designed!

In looking through hotels in nyc, this one continually popped up as one of the most affordable options. I really thought it was a cute hotel. My room felt a little small (as would be expected from a hotel named "Pod Hotel, no?) but once I settled in and plopped down on the bed for a quick nap, I found myself totally growing attached to the room. I opted for the shared bathroom, which is probably the #1 thing that people shy away from in this hotel. It's totally not as bad as you think, and if anyone had explained it to me, I wouldn't have thought twice (I thought three times and choose it anyway). There's a little panel with four lights on it above your door. It shows you which bathrooms are occupied and which are empty, so there's no one knocking on the door or anything while you're trying to shower or whatever. There wasn't a single time the whole long weekend that at least one of them wasn't open. The bathrooms themselves were pretty swanky too. Nice lighting, multiple shower heads spraying you from every direction, it was really nice. The only complaint I had is that the wifi was really shaky. It would just sort of peter out every now and then, coming back up full strength after like 10 minutes. Not a huge deal though. Pillow was a little flat too, so if that's important to you make sure you bring your own pillow. All in all a cute hotel in a super accessible location that was really cheap by nyc standards. I'd totally stay here again.

Room was a little small. It was clean and in a nice safe location. I was able to rest comfortably. There were no loud noises or guests. I would probably stay at this hotel again when I go back to NY in the fall this year.
