Great Place for the money

This a great place particularly is you have kids in the city. You can use the kitchen to prepare snacks or breakfast and save time and money. Room was a very nice size, must have been a studio apartment at one time.

A pretty good hotel in central Manhattan

Nice hotel, with very large room and a small kitchen, I've been in smaller and much pricier hotels in New York. But why do hotels charge so much for Wifi access in rooms? There is a free Wifi access in the lobby...

great room for the price

I'm used to NY hotel rooms that aren't much bigger than the bed. This room was great! A separate bedroom and a decent sized bathroom. There is even a kitchen (the fridge came in handy!) The hotel wasn't perfect but very functional and clean. Good location near 39th and Lexington. I gave it an extra star because the price was unbeatable. It was noisy - but almost every hotel in NY has noise. I had a clean, functional, good sized room close to the price of a 2 star room.

Nice, but no luxury

You can't beat the location-great neighborhood! However, the hotel is tired and the staff seems tired, too. At first glance, it seems you have been put in somebody's grandmother's apt. in the city. Everything is just alittle worn and faded. Believe it or not, it grows on you, though, and begins to feel homey after a few days. It's no luxury hotel-you bring your own bags to your room and the towels are the kind of scratchy kind. All of this could have been overlooked if the front desk had cared one iota about what was going on. (We were originally given a room that was already occupied! When we returned to the front desk, we were told, "No prob.") Internet is expensive and per computer, not per room.(We were with 2 travelers who each had their own laptops and sharing a room. We had to buy internet access for EACH of them. Seems to be unreasonable.) On the plus side, the kitchens are a bonus, and with a little corner store up the street, we were stocked up within hours of arriving. Sure beats room service charges. All in all, a nice hotel, just not a luxury hotel, in a great location.

Comfortable, well placed, and nice staff

This was a one night stay in New York City, which I find terrifying. Check in and out were easy, the staff was friendly and helpful. I was easily able to change rooms for accomodation that suited us better. The room was huge, not brand new, but not shabby either. The location was close enough to 5th avenue to be convenient, but far enough away to be quite peaceful. And the price was good.

a decent priced hotel

I came in this time to get a haircut before I go to Atlanta to visit with my boys. Every room that has a kitchen should definitely have a microwave oven and a toaster.

Murray Hill ~ soso

The hotel was nice, but you have to pay for everything. You can use the internet in the lobby, but it's limited. No internet in the rooms, unless you pay for it, limited cable stations. Need to be more informatived about directions to different sites. Wanted to go to Soho and the desk didn't know now to direct me to the right route.

If your driving and[...]is offering a parking deal. ~ Take it. You can't park anywhere and parking in the structure is expensive without weekly or monthy rate.

Great Location, Service, and Value

The location was great, and close to the subway if you wanted to go farther. The street the hotel was on was quiet, too. The service was unbeatable. They were friendly from the first phone call to checking out. We weren't guarenteed a room with a king bed, but when I called to confirm and ask if we could have that type of room, they said that while they couldn't give us a king room, they would upgrade our room. The upgrade they gave us? The penthouse suite! It was huge, had a balcony that wrapped around a quarter of the building, and had views of the Empire State Building. But we were able to glimpse some of the other rooms and they were also big. Given the room size, cleanliness, service, and location, the value is incredible. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean and central to sights and shopping

The hotel was within walking distance to everything including Grand Central Station. Lovely Italian restaurant across the street, and v. nice deli-style grocer 2 blocks away. Kitchenette clean. In-building coin laundry handy. Room not very modern, but TV and all appliances worked well. Perfect for our needs: sightseeing, shopping, theater, R&R.
