Great location right in Broadway!

I spent 4 days with my mother at the intercontinental Times Square and had a great time there. It's right across some of the main broadway theaters and Times Square. Rooms were super clean and comfortable and staff very nice and helpful. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family!

30th wedding anniversary

My wife and I were first time visitors to NYC and we had a blast. The hotel was first rate and right in the middle of all the action in Mid-town. We spent most of our time sight-seeing, but the location of the hotel couldn't have been better if we had taken in a show, as all the theaters were within easy walking distance. We also were subway rookies and had the concierge help educate us in short order to the point that we went all the way from Yankee Stadium to all the downtown and harbor sites with confidence. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location alone. It is very clean, and very new and modern with a nice bathroom and shower. We didn't eat at the hotel or order room service, so not sure of the qualtity or price, but there didn't seem to be any shortage of customers in the restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful....

Central Tourist Location in New York

Excellent five night stay at this hotel. As tourists we appreciated the central location - close to many sights and attractions including Broadway, as well as multiple subway lines. The staff was very helpful responding to several requests. For example, we were loaned a high quality umbrella with a simple request that it be returned after use. The room was both well equipped and comfortable. One small issue was that the air conditioning provided lots of cooling, but left the room very damp. Our positive experience was in keeping with the somewhat upmarket pricing for a hotel of this quality.

Visit to Broadway

Our trip ended up happening during the evacuation of Manhattan to prepare for Hurricane Irene. I can not express enough not only how safe I felt at this hotel during this time but also how prepared they seemed to be for anything that may happen. They set up a room to view movies and provided free popcorn. This allowed people to get out of their rooms and meet new people. This hotel went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. Cheers!

intercontinental hotel

We stayed at the intercontiental hotel in NYC, the hotel itself was great, however our view (we got a sky-view room) was not impressive for what we paid. Next time we will get a standard room for a more reasonable price.

Wonderful weekend holiday

The Intercontinental Times Square is the most comfortable hotel we've ever visited, and the staff the friendliest. We are an older couple who try to get away by ouselves once in a while to relax and enjoy new things. This hotel made our vacation very memorable. We highly recommend it to anyone who plans to visit New York, and we'll probably stay there again.

Comfortable but not luxurious.

The hotel is good, but not luxurious. There are some design faux pas. E.g., 2 big mirrors in the bathroom but none in the bedroom. The double-bed room is roomy and quiet. The restaurant has good food, and is better than some of the famous restaurants in Time Square. But the food tends to be overseasoned and salty, and you must tell the kitchen to go easy on salt. There is no microwave available, and a refrigerator costs $30 additional. So it may not be appropriate for family with children. The location is superb, as entrance to subway is right outside. The service is good overall. Make sure you check your bill as it would show use of the bar items even if you just move it around, due probably to an internal sensor in the bar refrigerator. We were satisfied with our stay, as the beds were comfy.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

We used both taxis and subway for transportaion around town as we have family living in the upper east side. But if you know where you are going, subway is usually preferable, especially during rush hour, which coincides with theater hours in the evening, when taxis may not be able to move due to traffic jam.Subway now is $2.50 per ride per person, and taxi costs around $10-$15 for 3-5 miles. Costs are comparable if you have several people. If you need to get to a show, walking is best if the theater is within 10 blocks of your hotel, provided you can walk, but many blocks are short blocks. Get a good city and subway map from your hotel as soon as you arrive to get the bearing of the city. If you need to backtrack due to a mistake, talk to the attendant who may allow you to do it without having to exit and pay again to get back in, except at big transfer points such as Time Square 42nd Street where you can switch directions without problem. I talked to locals every where when I was not sure which train I should take. I got the right answer in most cases. If you have leftover money on your subway card, ask the attendant for an envelope, so that you can send the card back for a refund.
