Ok, not great
For the price we paid, and for the location (mainly), if you are only two people who will spend most of the day out, it is a perfectly good choice. The accomodations are basic and old, but overall ok.

Okay for one night
Hotel had a GREAT location, right across the street from Madison Square Garden and only a few blocks away from Time Square! But, the bed was not made, they just threw the comforter over the sheets and pillows, so the mattress was actually showing under the comforter. Also there was rust on the vents and in the bathroom, which is understandable for an older hotel but there was A LOT of it. I would only stay here again if we got a Suite and only for one night!

Hotel Pennsylvania Review
This hotel was a dump. The room was disgusting. We woke up with bed bug bites all over us. We had to grab extra towels just to lay on the bed to put a barrier between ourselves and the mattress in an attempt to not be bitten. The bathroom was dirty, with previous guest hair from all parts of their body over the shower. We were on a no smoking floor and it seemed like everyone was smoking. The work out facility was the pits, half the equipment was broke - and there was no water available in the workout facility. This place was one of the worst places we've ever stayed at.

Hotel location save you money
The Hotel Pennsylvania has an incredible location, all tourist attractions such time square, 5th avenue, empire state is close to the hotel. The location is great that you don't need to spend money in transportation when you can walk almost to every location.

Hotel Transylvania
Check in: One surly clerk to service 60 or more tourists from a tour bus. Nearly 60 minutes to check-in. Room: Shabby. It's obvious this hotel has had a glorious past, but the past is still evident in the poorly maintained rooms. General feel: Creepy. Think about the hotel in the movie "The Shining". Dark, dingy, depressing. Location: SUPERB, centrally located to everything. Value: Great if you are on a budget. If you have the bucks you can spend a lot more and get a lot more.

A great hotel with an outstanding $!
Great location-great staff- very large hotel - enjoyed the easy access to the floors since their were 12 elevators! Small room as are most early 1900's hotels but not the smallest I've stayed in before (in NY).

New Year's Eve
The cheapest hotel in the center of Manhattan, expecially during the New Year's Eve period. The building is careless and the room is very small and poor, but clean. The location is excellent, very close to time square (about 10 minutes by walk) and in front of the Penn Station, very usefull to reach the airport by train.
