Hotel Pennsylvania

The hotel smelled smoky and musty. The air conditioner in the room wasn't anything to write home about. The check in line on Wed, May 9 @ 5:30 PM was very long with only 3 staff members. The hotel does know in advance the heaviness of check ins for planning.

Classic, good location

I'd stay here four times, all great. The best location in the city, if you take the Air Train from JFK to Jamaica and then the train to Penn Station you'll find it right across the street. Just steps away from Times Square, Empire State Building, and the main Subway Station in the city. In the lobby if you look for Maria at the front desk she'll treat you very well, she's great. The price is perfect for a spot like this. When I travel I'm looking for a nice bed and a bathroom good enough to spend my days, I'm not looking for luxury. If I would want that, I would stay at home instead.

My Stay.

No internet was available. I asked for non-smoking and it still smelled like smoke. Was charged by hotel as well. Called during work hours to fix charge and accounting office was still closed.

Don't do it!!!

If your thinking of going to this hotel, don't do it!!! I'm not a picky person at all so when i saw it had some bad reviews I thought they were just exaggerating. We tried to check in early and they wouldn't let us, so we came back at 2. We waited an hour in line to check in. Once we finally got up to check in, it took them about ten minutes. They took both both our id's even though my husbands name wasn't on the reservation, he stared at them for another five minutes. Everyone in line was complaining. The staff didn't seem to care at all. The room was the tiniest hotel room I've ever seen, the paint was peeling off the walls, the room was very outdated. The location isn't even that great unless your taking the train. There are hotels for the same price a few blocks away, stay away from Hotel Pennsylvania!!!

hotwl stay

Upon arrival I was told that the hotel was fully booked even the reservation that I had was not available. I then had to wait for a room. Then I was placed in a room att the way at the end of the hotel near the back. The walls had pealing paint an dthe shower had mold. It was horrible. The room was dirty and too small. I called to get the room changed and the staff was rude but after requesting the manager I was able to get it changed.
