Small but nice hotel
The hotel functions well. The rooms are small, but they have what you need, as long as you don't have too much luggage. The bathroom was all right. There was no food served at the hotel, but the restaurant next door took care of all we needed. The hotel is very close to Times Square, Broadway and so forth, and if you are fit, you can walk to all you would want to see. Overall a nice hotel.

Best Location and Value
This hotel is very close to Times Square and the Theatre District. It is a great value as well. It was clean, quiet, nicely decorated, room not too small, and friendly staff. Will stay here again.

Great Location
A great location with nice friendly staff. A nice quiet room considering it was a half block from Times Square. The room was tiny, but we had no problems making it work for 2 people.

Little Country Mouse
Love the Hotel, Love the Loc, Love It, Love It
For my first trip to NYC could not have chosen a better hotel & location for a Manhattan experience. A half a blocks' walk from THE Times Square & all of its attractions put the hotel location over the top. Easy distance from Penn Station made it ideal as we were traveling to/from by rail. Walking distance to everything NYC - Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Theatre District - and ideal location for getting to tour buses (which I would highly recommend taking - a great way to see & learn a lot). Hotel staff was very friendly & welcoming, hotel was clean & safe, would recommend (and have already) this hotel to anyone traveling to the heart of NYC - you will be very happy with the accomodations. Even had a neighboring restaurant - The Bistro that we ate in prior to a Broadway Show -delicious & friendly staff - so easy when there are so many unknown restaurants to choose from.

Good location with such price
It's only 177 per night at weekend but you can enjoy the most metropolitan part in manhattan. Standing between 6th and the Times Square, the hotel just hits the middle town of the manhattan. Go north, you can walk along the fifth ave and towards the central park. Go south, you can walk along the broad way and towards Wall Street. Maybe you can grab a bite at the China Town on the way south.

Great Tourist Location

Nice, clean and friendly
My wife and I visited NY for a short week get-a-way. the hotel provided everything that we required. We recieved a King size bed as requested. The staff was very quick to assist and very friendly, even the maids were very nice. We spent very little time in our room so the size was not an issue at all. If you are looking for an affordable hotel that is clean and nice and located just a block off of time square Hotel Mela is a great choice. Deli just our the front door for morning coffee and bagles. Nice evening resturants all around.. Excellent visit.

Time Square Perfection
We needed to be in Time Square and this was the perfect place at the right price. Not a big monolithic hotel. Simple but complete, it had everything we needed and the staff were wonderful.
