A Great Find
If you want a hotel near Times Square, you won't do better than Hotel Mela. Cool, modern decor, very clean room, really friendly and gracious staff, and a very hip vibe. About the only suggestion I have is that fans be installed in the bathrooms to minimize the shower steam; otherwise, I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Pleasant surprise
Didn't know what to expect of this one. Had never heard of Mela. Was heading to NYC on business. I try to avoid Times Square but needed to be in midtown and this was the best I could find. Really nice place. Clean, comfortable, easy. Would definitely return.

New York getaway
Went to visit my son and enjoy some of the sights and sounds of New York. The location of the hotel was excellent. The room was clean and modern. Would stay there again.

Perfect location, near Times Square
Room was average size but adequate for us as we were only in it to sleep! Too much to see and do & very close to Times Square. Room was very clean although not a brilliant view from the window, not bothered as not in it long. Watch out for the mini bar as it's very sensitive & you will be charged if you move anything! We were pre-warned by the reception staff though, staff were very polite and friendly and we were able to leave our bags prior to check in time of 3pm and on the day we checked out which meant we could do plenty of last minute shopping without having to carry our cases with us. Would recommend :-)

Perfect located for a short Get away...
Frienly and very competent staff. However our room was small and sleep during the nights disturbed from exterieur noise. After the second night it became clear it wasn´t an isolated event (neighbouring property aircon) and we were offered another room. Walking distances to more than you can overcome on a 3 day stay. New York is calling for more visits. Good knowing Hotel Mela is there..... with excellent -and affordable- Parking arrangement closeby.

Fun location for weekend trip
The hotel was very cute and clean. The lobby is small but modern. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very small, but well appointed, comfortable and clean. It was close to everywhere we wanted to go either walking, using the subway or by cab. It was a busy place. We stayed 2 nights and the prices was great for what we needed.

Overnight and a show
The wife and I stayed over in New York to see a show and decided to say right in Times Square, since we just had one night. Mela was perfect, location -- walk to everything -- and tons of restaurants and all the characters that traverse Times Square. The costs was a little on the high side and parking was pricey, but hey, it's New York. well worth it.
