We have stayed at thhis hotel a number of times. We love the location in the Financial District- simple transportation anywhere on the island, easy walks to stores and restaurants, as well as to Battery Park and the water. Rooms are large for NY and very comfortable, staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would return happily.

Ideal city spot.

Well located for my office and end of Liberty St. in the Financial district. If you have a room facing the street then you will hear A/C fans from the building opposite 24/7. Rooms are clean but could do with a lick of paint in places. No clothes iron or board in room. Staff very nice and helpful. Especially the young girl on the desk who went out onto the main street around the corner to hail a taxi for me. Good quality food and drink in the bar and restaurant with excellent quick service.

Financial District hotel

This hotel is located in the heart of the fianncial district. A drawback is that it is a long and expensive cabride to get to midtown for any tourist activities. The hotel is quiet and fine for the business traveler. Ice machines are only locate don three of the 14 floors so be prepared for elevator rides.

The Gild Hotel...eh.

Pleasant. Room service needs to be better. Did not deliver breakfast on my last day. Also too much salt not enough sugar. They seemed to serve salt with everything even coffee. No coffee pot in the room either. The house wine was just ok.

OK

Pretty good - although there was a bunch of furniture in the hallway leading to our room, and the public restrooms for the restaurant could have been more clean. Things you don't expect at a relatively upscale boutique hotel.

Fell short of my expectations

I don't know who decided on glass see-though bathroom doors but I feel it very undesirable, especially when we had visitors. There was no top sheet on the bedding. I like something between me & the comforter the guy last night slept under. Also, the room needs a comfortable sitting chair in the corner with a small ottoman or table of sorts. There's only 1 chair at the dresser and I was forced to eat on the bed. I expected the quality to match a Marriott or Hilton in which this hotel fell short.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Great sandwich/breakfast shop just across the street- The Earl of Sandwich. The next block over is a 24 hr market called the Jubilee loaded with a deli making breakfast & sandwiches, too.

Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks right around the corner for morning coffee. Coffee is very good in the hotel but expensive. Walking distance to Stone Street, an outdoor cafe area good for brunch

Stunning and comfortable! Perfect except . . .

This was by far the most attractive hotel I've ever stayed in. In addition to being stylish, it was clean and EXTREMELY comfortable (I actually checked the mattress tag so I could look into buying an identical bed for myself at home). The shower was awesome, too. There is one "but," and for me it is a big but: there was no free wireless internet. To me, wireless is standard in hotels these days - like cable - and guests shouldn't be expected to shell out an extra $15 for what has become a compulsory amenity. Especially not at a hotel as high-end as this one. Fix that and it is pure, unadulterated perfection.

Pleasant stay at the Gild Hall

This was a very pleasant stay. I was impressed with the size of the room, particularly given the New York City location. The decor is also unique. My only complaint was that the pastries in the Continental breakfast on Sunday were stale. If I am paying $15 for a Continental breakfast, I expect fresh pastries.
