Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel

For NYC, this is a reasonably priced hotel in a great location with rooms and a very nice staff. Everyone is Irish........both the staff and most of the guests.........I felt like I was in Dublin. This is not a Marriott that is huge and loaded with amenities........but rather a more boutique feel with some nice personal attention.

After accidentally canceling a previous reservation at another hotel and finding rooms no longer available when I tried to re-book, I searched several more times and eventually decided on the Fitzpatrick despite it being located a little further up than we thought we had wanted. It ended up being the best accidental cancellation I've ever made :) We absolutely LOVED everything about the hotel! From our first step into the lobby where we were greeted by a simply lovely and accommodating staff (at comfortable, private desks vs. the traditional impersonal counter) to the charming, intimate pub and it's FANTASTIC food, to the "little things" like a bedtime mint, coffee maker and courtesy umbrella in the room - which we actually needed this weekend :( Everything about the hotel was spotless. The floors and bathroom gleamed. Tho my husband felt the room was rather tight, I have stayed in NY hotels in rooms much smaller. I found the room quite comfortable, the closet was *very* roomy! The hotel's location is further from Times Sq. where we usually stay but we explored the area and found all new favorites in the neighborhood! I cannot wait to go back! I'm reluctant to give this place such glowing reviews for fear that we will be unable to find a room when we are ready to return! ;-) The one thing we were disappointed to find was that while they do offer a fitness area and pool, these are not located ON the premises - they offer guests free passes to the 24 hour fitness center a few blocks away.

Do Not Sleep Here Winter!!!!! I stayed here month ago and got sick! I can not believe they do not even have electric heater. When I complained, only reply was because the building is old. Come on!!! Hotel don't have heating because they didn't wanted to spend extra money installing heating unit!!! But the funny thing is the Hallway is very warm. Do not get fulled by the price!!!!

Great hotel, staff, value... Room was a TAD tight for two of us, and the floors could have been a little cleaner, but we are NOT complaining. Great superb staff. Thank you Fitzpatrick. We are definitely coming back!

The Fitzpatrick Manhattan is a Irish hotel (as in run by a Irish hotel company and staffed with mostly Irish employees). Our room was clean and organized. The bathroom seemed newly renovated. Although we did not eat at the hotel, the bar/restaurant off the lobby looked great. The one minor complaint I had was that we had to wait a long time for the elevators.

We arrived at the hotel at the tail end of a blizzard, and staff greeted us with delight. They immediately upgraded our room, and then again to a suite when they learned we were celebrating a special occasion. The room was very comfortable; the bathroom small but adequate. Terrific pub on the first floor, complete with friendly bartender. The location was central to all of our activities.

I booked this as a package while booking airfare- it was the only affordable hotel that had a suite with sofa bed. I was traveling with my 17 year old and knew we would each want some space, so the suite was appealing. We couldn't have been happier with the hotel and its location, and the suite was just perfect. Spacious, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located. Extremely comfortable beds. Very clean. Delishious Guinness on tap. Nice to stop into the bar at the end of a long day.

The whole purpose of my trip was to spend Christmas in NYC. I had also planned on getting engaged. I let the hotel know prior to my arrival and they made every attempt to make my stay memorable. We unexpectedly got a room upgrade, that included free bedside waters, chocolates, cookies, slippers and bath robes. The staff was very attentive and a delight to work with. Upon arrival, we were asked if we needed to book any shows or had questions about the area and the various sightseeing destinations. Later in the evening, we had a drinks in the bar and we were approached by two different managers asking if we needing anything and to simply greet us. At checkout, the we were asked how the engagement went and were congratulated. They genuinely seemed to care about our decision to share a special moment with them. The location was great, as we wanted to roam the 5th Avenue shops, be close to Rockefeller Center, and be within walking distance to Times Square. Thanks Fitzpatrick!

A surprising experience, given the reasonable room rate. Attractive bar, good kitchen, excellent location...convenient to subways, taxis, shopping, museums, etal. Helpful staff. Some rumbling noise from the Lex Ave. subway, below. No business center for those staying w/o their own devices. But, overall, an excellent.
