Insouciance or Incompetance
I've stayed here now about 6 times, and each time something changes for the worse. On this most recent occasion, the Business Center was closed - permanently, I was told. As an In-Touch member I was supposed to get the New York Times each morning - didn't happen, I had to ask at the desk. Coffee is served in the lobby, but on Sat. at 9AM, there was a line and no coffee - I returned to my room annoyed. A friend called from the lobby to say that I would need to call the front desk to say it's OK for him to come up. When I went down to the lobby to ask why this was happening, a nasty staff member said that "After 8 PM they will not call a guest room for fear of disturbing them - WHAT?? All in all, I will not stay at this or any Kimpton in the future - very poorly managed with a staff that shows little concern or interest in their guests.

Great Saturday in the City
I was looking for a place to stay with a few friends overnight while celebrating my birthday in New York City. I wanted something close to the lounge we were planning to visit later in the evening and looked online to find local hotels. As far as location, Eventi was one of the closest, and after reviewing the hotel's website, I knew this is where I wanted to stay. It looked very sleek and modern and had great views of the city according the website. Although rates were a bit steep, I went ahead and booked it, knowing that a Saturday night stay in New York at a 4-star hotel wouldn't come extremely cheap! Upon check-in, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful, noting that there was a complimentary wine and cheese hour taking place in the hotel restaurant/lounge for another 45 minutes and suggested my friends and I drop everything off in the room and check it out. The wine and cheese were both delicious, and the lounge area had a great view of the city with windows all around the floor and ceiling. It was on the second floor, but gave you just enough of a view of the street and people below. The room was equally as impressive, with a beautiful marble shower that was more than spacious. The room was impeccably clean, and the floor-to-ceiling windows left us with picturesque views. I was fortunate enough to get a room on the 21st floor by chance--no requests were made, but it definitely made the stay all the more memorable. Oddly, they have no ice machines, so we needed to go through the front desk to request ice (which took almost 40 minutes to arrive). That was really the only negative experience. Check-out time was extremely reasonable, 12 noon, giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the morning before having to check out. Great stuff!

IN LOVE WITH NYC
great holiday to NYC BABY!!
the eventi is an excellent hotel with great staff and a great location for the sites. the only very small downside for a true Brit was the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room, however they did offer free tea and coffee in the reception area although that was only in the morning. i always need my tea as soon as i wake up so having to shower and dress before i could get my first brew of the morning was torture. having either tea/coffee in the room or having it throughout the day in the reception area would make this hotel the best ive ever stayed in but tea/coffee apart id stay here again in a heartbeat.

30th Birthday in NYC
Eventi was a wonderful hotel to pick for our first trip to NYC! We stayed 4 nights to celebrate my 30th birthday. The room was 2109 and had an amazing view of the empire state building as well as the city. Comfortable king bed and good storage in closet. Bathroom was pretty with marble and a rainshower head. We ate breakfast at the restaurant which was good, not the best in the world but good. Didnt have a chance to see bar, eat dinner or experience the wine tasting offered from 5-6pm. The doormen check to see your room key after dark and everything felt very safe. Close to subway and easy to get cab! I highly recommend Eventi for a stay! They even delivered a bottle of champagne for my birthday that my sister in law had called in for. :)
