nyc weekend
The hotel is in a great location, only 8 blocks from Times Square and 2 blocks from Central Park. The rooms are small but very clean. The Ava bar at the PH was nice and very busy. Many affordable places to eat close to the hotel and the R metro is right at the door that will take you to Battery Park where you can take a boat ride to the Statute of Liberty.

Good location, clean, style that may not appeal to all
Hotel is in a good location. Right next to a subway entrance for the 57th street station, 8 walkable blocks from Times Square and 4 blocks from Central Park. Room was clean but a little cramped (normal for New York). The hotel has an artistic style that may not appeal to some. Parking was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels and was in a garage just down the street. Staff was friendly and attentive for us.

College trip
This hotel is in a perfect location for central park and times square. The staff was very helpful with all our needs and with suggestions. The room was a little warm and the other guests were loud, not the hotel's fault. Perfect for visiting Fordham and seeing the sites.

LT & Son
Eh... it was okay overall
My 10 year old son and I stayed at the hotel on our spring break trip. It was overall an "okay" hotel. Nothing special or extraordinary. It was fairly clean but not sparkling. It was a decent size room for NYC standards. The lobby decor was pretty cool. The staff was decently friendly, but not overly helpful/friendly. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it was crazy loud with street noise, much more than I've experienced during my other hotel stays in NYC. The elevators were extremely slow and small. It was a chilly early April week and the heater in the room didn't work until I called to have it repaired. The phone to call the front desk didn't work either. Location was great and convenient. Bed was comfy.

There are better choices for the money
On this trip to NYC, we wanted to stay slightly off of Times Square and be in walking distance to the park, theaters and shopping. As far as location, the hotel is perfect. Also, the lobby is very impressive with great decor and atmosphere. I felt like I was in a hotel in south beach. The restaurants and bar are also great. The room itself, however, was very disappointing. The decor was pleasant and minimalist, and the bed was adequate. The toilet handle had to be adjusted every time to keep it from running. The room was VERY LOUD. We heard every honk from the street and every door that opened and closed in the hall way. Additionally, we heard EVERYTHING that occurred in our neighbor's room. I'm not a light sleeper, but had a very hard time sleeping in this room Also, there were Halloween parties being hosted by both the hotel's lounges. It took us several minutes to even get to the elevators leading to our room. In fact, we wound up walking up the stairs to the sixth floor because lines to the elevator were so long. Our overall experience was not absolutely terrible, but it certainly was not great for a vacation.

Offbeat...in a good way.
The hotel is nicely located in midtown on a quieter block, and is very close to restaurants, shops, subways, and entertainment. The staff was professional, pleasant, though not scrupulously attentive. The common areas are pleasant, though limited. The rooms were quite small and moderately appointed. Hallway noise could be heard, but was not disturbing. The bathroom's appointments were a bit worn with age, yet clean and well maintained. The decor was definitely off-beat. The bed had a blue light under the base that, fortunately, could be turned off. The room had a peculiar portrait of a huge-eyed young woman in tears. I don't mind off-beat and unusual, as long as my stay or activities are not adversly affected. As such, this hotel is worth booking if you like a little difference.
