Cool atmsophere but could use a little improvement

It's a nice hotel with a good location. The staff could be a little more accomadating and the service in the bar could a be a lot better!! Plan lots of time for that drink!! The room seemed clean, except for the shower...it wasn't bad, but could have been a little better kept through the years. Might stay here again if it was $175 a night.

New Experience

Loved the modern trend of this boutique hotel. The blue lights that illuminate the room were a great accent. Only complaint, no free Wi-Fi.

dream hotel

The hotel looked nice but it was pricey considering the mold in the bathroom wasn't Wat I expected for 300 a night . I like the decoration but not. The noise that comes from the club downstairs in the hotel ... Not to mention we had to wait extra because they had put our reservation for the day after when I had my reservation showing the right day n time . That was a no go !

Horrible

What a waste of money. There is no way that this is a 4 star hotel. The lobby is absolutely beautiful. The location is great. Those are the only good things I have to say about it. Whats wrong with this place? I have stayed at 3 star hotels that were better maintained. There is paint peeling in the bathroom and little bits of damage throughout the room. The room is absolutely tiny. I barely have room to set up the ironing board. The bathroom is ridiculously small. You cant even open the bathroom door all of the way. The shower door doesn't shut completely. How about service? The concierge is hidden behind a high desk. When I asked about the club attached to the hotel, I was told "not sure, I just know it is loud and I try to ignore it". Doorman? nope. I dragged my bags in and about when I was at the elevator, someone finally offered to help. elevators are absolutely tiny, fitting 6 people. being on the 13th floor, I had to wait a long time for them. I would never stay at this hotel again. I absolutely believe that this hotel is overrated, 3 stars at best, and an average 3 star hotel at that. Save the money and go somewhere else.

Not so dreamy

Location is great, but on check in was given a 2nd fl room next to the elevator, when asked to change was put in a room directly across the street from construction jackhammers 14 hrs a day, no other rooms available. Wonderful rooftop bar, just make sure you bring your own drinks, staff was scarce.

Eh... it was okay overall

My 10 year old son and I stayed at the hotel on our spring break trip. It was overall an "okay" hotel. Nothing special or extraordinary. It was fairly clean but not sparkling. It was a decent size room for NYC standards. The lobby decor was pretty cool. The staff was decently friendly, but not overly helpful/friendly. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it was crazy loud with street noise, much more than I've experienced during my other hotel stays in NYC. The elevators were extremely slow and small. It was a chilly early April week and the heater in the room didn't work until I called to have it repaired. The phone to call the front desk didn't work either. Location was great and convenient. Bed was comfy.

Not Much Dreaming Due to Construction

I like the Dream and it was my second stay. But they are tearing down the building across the street, so on Tuesday morning at 5am was the trash pickup and the sound of garbage trucks lifting and dropping tons of dumpsters. At 6:30am the jack hammering started as they are tearing down the building across the street. It was really hard to get any sleep past 5am. Otherwise the hotel is great, but the price fluctuates widely. I've paid anywhere from $240 to $319 a night. But the construction across the street is a major turnoff. And the Dream and the building being torn down are on corners, so the sound reverberates around the hotel, no matter what side you face.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Old Castle Pub at 160 W54th is great and beats the trendy poseur pub on 7th ave. The Old Castle is quaint, authentic, with good grub and good brews! Stop there every time I stay in Midtown.
