Love this hotel!

It was nice to stay in a hotel that was unique and well kept. It was in walking distance to everything but wasnt in the heart of all the congestion in Times Square which was nice. Very comfortable. Staff was welcoming and always helpful. Would go back again.

Not 4 star, more like 2 1/2

Pros: The staff are all super friendly and helpful, the bed is pretty comfortable, very clean rooms, and a GREAT location (right next to Time Square!!). Now, cons: The rooms are extremely tiny, I mean.. the smallest I've ever seen. We also had to change our rooms because the sink in the bathroom didn't work, the fan in the bathroom didn't work, & the water coming out of the shower faucet didn't work. Overall, the rooms are very outdated with a horrible view of a brick wall out of the bedroom window. BUT, paying $200/night to be this close to Time Square, what do you expect? Probably would not stay here again; the Sheraton down the block looks a lot nicer and updated, we will more than likely stay there next time for the same price.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel

The staff was nice and the mid-town location was good. Unfortunately, however, the room was just awful. It was the size of a closet, and the bed was so small I couldn't sleep. I have bruises on my shins from running into the edge of the bed several times. And we paid over $250 per night! It was nice to have a restaurant next to the hotel that was open all day. They have a nice club on the top floor, but the drinks were $16 and all of the servers and bartenders were women in tiny little dresses. That might be nice for male customers, but we were looking for a place to be waited on by men. It seems Manhattan is not a good destination for a gal pal weekend.

Decidedly average

We couldn't have asked for a better location, within walking distance of all the major attractions in NYC. But be prepared - the rooms are tiny, the beds extremely uncomfortable, and the bathroom fixtures/fittings old and tired and in need of an upgrade and a good clean. We got a good deal and a discount code, but for the standard price this place would count as a rip-off. Although there was a guide in our room, we only realised on the last day that there was room service and that the hotel was meant to have a gym (although we went and had a look and couldn't see it). A friendlier and more helpful welcome from reception would have been useful. On the plus side, we didn't experience any of the noise from the rooftop club which we had been warned about.

great location

now the dream is in a very amazing area of the city you are close to everything by subway or by taxi. the room i had was very small but it was cozy and very stylish all white and modern with blue neon lights and space saving furniture the large screen tv was big enough to be impressive the bathroom was clean and very posh. I basically got my moneys worth because so close to the action and the price was decent i could have easily spent double the price for the same service elsewhere.

NY Weekend

Friendly helpful staff that made the weekend a great experience. The room was cozy, but not so small that it was claustrophobic. The music was loud, but didn't filter into the room. Great location for our midtown wandering. Really appreciated the easy going atmosphere of the hotel.

A well-named Dream

This is a sleek, cool deco-themed hotel close to anything you'd want to do in Midtown Manhattan. Just entering the lobby is an experience--dark wood, tiled ceilings, floor to ceiling aquarium, a quiet seating area toward the back, a street level restaurant and easy access to to a hip club. The signature color is a cool cobalt blue. The ads did not mention how sexy it is. Getting off the elevator on 4, I was met with a lovely photo mural of torsos and breasts, in the signature blue. I thought it was great, but perhaps startling to some. The room was small but well laid out--comfortable bed, cool white bedding, dark wood, writing desk, and blue indirect lighting at floor level. No need to set the mood, it's already there. A couple of quibbles: half the storage console was taken up with the minibar, half the other side with the safe (only 2 drawers). The closet was half-filled with 2 wonderful bathrobes. There was no wifi, only an ethernet type connection (I had only an iPod with me so was iMute). The bathroom had nice shelves and personal amenities, but the tub/shower was older but not cool old (e.g., clawfoot). The location is fantastic--cabs out front, subway and delis right at the corner. The major museums, TV studios, shopping, Broadway, Central Park, Tiffany's -- it's all an easy walk or cab ride away. I was so taken with grazing at my favorite deli that I didn't use the on-site restaurants. The menus were varied with a range of cuisines, reasonably priced for the area, and full room service available. To sum up, this is a great spot for a romantic weekend or quick business trip. I had theater tickets and museum passes for a couple of days before flying to Europe. For a longer stay, the small amount of storage could be a problem. I suggest calling to see if larger rooms have larger closets or more drawer space. A cool blue Dream overall.

nyc weekend

The hotel is in a great location, only 8 blocks from Times Square and 2 blocks from Central Park. The rooms are small but very clean. The Ava bar at the PH was nice and very busy. Many affordable places to eat close to the hotel and the R metro is right at the door that will take you to Battery Park where you can take a boat ride to the Statute of Liberty.
