Hotelier Jeff Klein has remained ardently committed to preserving the relaxed privacy of the buildings former incarnation as a gentlemens club and private sanctuary for the citys power brokers. Dating from 1904, and nestled on the New York Citys Club Row. The seven-story, 65 room hotels discrete, elegant façade is in harmony with prestigious neighbors like the New York Yacht, Harvard and Penn Clubs. The intimate duplex lobby that incorporates a mezzanine guest lounge furthers the hotels twin themes of discretion and luxury.
The hotels interior designer, Jeffrey Bilhuber, regards the City Club as an important step in the evolution of his New American Classicism, a seductive mix of classic materials and simple forms utilized in a refreshing and inspired manner. The blend of familiar and innovative appeals to modernists and traditionalists alike, creating a continuity of style while nurturing a modern tradition.
Bilhubers emphasis on comfort and luxury is evident in every facet of the hotel, whose handsome guest rooms feature wall coverings simulating hand drawn plaster, Honduran mahogany, Frette bed linens, and down feather beds. The City Club Hotel also offers three Grand Duplex suites, each with their own private terrace. All accommodations contain voluminous chocolate marble and chrome bathrooms offering CO Bigelow bath products.

9. kerroksen huone parvekkeella oli ahdas. Ei mitään paikkaa mihin laittaa matkalaukkua, minibaari oli vanha komero, johon pääsi. kunhan siirteli huonekaluja. Ainoat paikat missä pystyi lataamaan akkuja oli kylpyhuoneessa tai parvekkeella. Portaikon äänet kantoivat hyvin huoneeseen. Sijainti oli hyvä, samoin sänky.

Idéalement situé mais évitez les chambres pour 4
Hôtel vraiment central, beaucoup d'attractions à moins de 10 minutes à pied (Times Square, Rockfeller, Grand Central, Empire, Salles de Broadway,...) et 3 lignes de métro à 200 m. Par contre nous avions pris une chambre familiale pour 4 (parents + grands ados 20-22), le premier choix proposé par e boo kers. La chambre était annoncé comme étant équipée de deux lits "full-size". Un full-size bed standard fait 54 pouces soit un peu plus de 137 cm. Ceux de la chambre en faisait 125 (mesuré sur place), ce n'est vraiment pas large. Le personnel très serviable et efficace nous a fourni draps et couverture pour équiper la banquette supplémentaire (largeur 80 cm). C'est jouable, mais du coup le rapport confort/prix est nettement moins attractif et une nette impression de ne pas avoir eu une information claire au moment de la réservation. Je me demande comment réagissent les américains habitués aux king-size de 193 de large !

Pour le petit déjeuner, allez au Red Flame, un "diner" à 20 mètres sur le même trottoir. C'est bon, rapide, typiquement américain et abordable.

Lage des Hotels ist gut, Zimmer sehr klein, schwach und unsauber ohne Stauraum. Laute Klimaanlage und kalt, keine Besserung nach Reklamation (wir waren nicht die einzigen). Fenster ohne Sicht nach aussen, wenn man die nächste Hauswand nicht sehen möchte. Die Cookies heben das Niveau nicht. An der gleichen Strasse gibt es mehrere Hotels zu ähnlichen Preisen.

Der Aufenthalt im City Club Hotel war super, Lage ist perfekt zwischen 5th und 6th Av. Unweit vom Times Sq. und vielen anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Superbe petit ecrin à taille humaine
Superbe petit ecrin à taille humaine avec un emplacement parfait. 200 m de Time Square, 100 m de la 5 EME Avenue, 300 m de la fameuse patinoire du ROCKFELLER Center, 500 m de Central Park. Chambre cosy, soignée, très propre, un havre de paix dans lequel il fait bon se reposé après avoir passé la journée dans le tumulte New Yorkais ! Un personnel particulièrement attentionné (Cookies avec la méteo du lendemain vous attendent chaque soir sur le lit avant de vous coucher) Nous y retournerons c'est certain. Prendre le petit déj à l'américaine à 20 m de l'hôtel au RED LION que du bonheur avec une carte de folie à un prix cheap !
