Birthday treat

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in March 2013 for 7 days the complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good and coffee biscuits fruits and pastries throughout the day couldnt be faulted. The wine and cheese in the evening was also a great added extra. A special thanks to Jeffery on the front desk for getting us some KNICKS tickets when we couldnt get them also thanks to the staff on the reception and at the front door and Ricks cafe who were helpful ans extremely friendly. The maids did a good job the room was always clean and tidy. We will definitely return next time in NEW YORK as its so close to Time Square and in the middle of everything. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine in the room for my wifes birthday it was a lovely touch thanks again we had a great time.

Wouldn't change a thing

Best stay i've ever had anywhere. Staff were fantastic, polite and helpful and would go the extra mile to answer any request. Perfect location, mere feet from Times Square but managing to block most of the noise so you weren't disturbed at night. Relaxed atmosphere, wonderful decor, not a single problem with the room at any time. Literally wouldn't change a thing

Hope to return soon

We stayed in a basic cozy comfort room. It had an interior window not meant for a view but who needs it when you can walk down the hall and relax /snack in Rick's cafe. Our room was clean and perfect for a 2 day trip. Each member of the hotel staff was friendly, engaging, and accomodating. Times Square is just a few steps away but if you want to relax and escape the tourist atmosphere then this is the place to stay.

Good location and respite from Times Sq

The location was good for theatre. Did not really feel hospitality... In fact it was off - something missing. [...] at the desk was great as was a blonde young man and one of the 'doormen' - younger. [...] Manage, emt needs to work with staff on this and hospitality etc. One very arrogant guy at the desk. [*] by one of the doormman (was he a doorman? A bit unlclear what anyone did or does esp the guys on the street: Hail you a cab and tell you how arduous and difficult it is? The room was ridiculously small and musty and smelled like smoke - not great. It was so so so so dark and gloomy in an alley within an alley It was pitch dark at 11AM[...].

Wonderful location - amazing place

Absolutely in the center of everything. It's around the corner from Times Square but still extremely quiet. I was upgraded at check-in to a room with two double beds, which was very spacious for NYC. I was extremely impressed by how clean and beautifully maintained the hotel is. The staff was very attentive and seemed to always have a smile and kind word. I will definitely stay here from now on when in New York.

Nice Hotel, Good Location, Just No Heat

We wanted to stay near Times Square, so this location was perfect. Also, had the heat been working, it would have been very romantic. Only, the heat did not work. The attendant was called but never followed up. So on the 2nd call, the attendant sent up a service person who said the heater did not work. The service person told the attendant to put us into another room with the same size bed. But, the room they placed us into was cold and smaller than the first. We were even more upset to learn the next day by the doorman that portable heaters were available. Nice hotel otherwise, but if heat is important than look elsewhere.
