Great, central hotel
Great location, walking distance from times square and theatre district so perfect if you're seeing any shows. There's lots of good restaurants just around the corner on 9th ave. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a great size with a fridge, microwave, stove, desk, good sized TV and comfortable recliner. We stayed there for 5 days and found it the perfect base for exploring Manhattan. Great value for money.

Our stay was great. The hotel is in a good location, it is very clean. Price was good. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the Times Square area.

The Irish pub just down the block has wonderful food, nice bar area and lots of room.

Clean, friendly, good location.
This hotel was very clean and sanitary. The staff was helpful and very friendly. It is located only a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of Times Square. Right in between two other hotels. Seems like a safe enough neighborhood. It doesn't have breakfast, but that have a little snack shop that is open 24/7. There are a couple restaurants/ delis next door range. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed the room with nice sink, refrigerator, plates and utensils, some posts, and microwave. The bathroom was adequate and the bed was comfortable. The staff responded quickly and politely to any requests. We had some trouble using the Wi-fi; but I did not pursue it because we were out of the room so much. we were also able to walk to the theater district, Times Square and Macy's easily.

From 39the you can go up 8th Ave to 42nd and be in strking distance for all the entertinment you could desire or down to 33rd and you are at Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, a couple of blocks from Macy's Department store.

Pretty self contained room - clean and good staff. Location is a little off from Times Square, but a small negative compared to a lot of positives. I think I overpaid for the rooms - but can''t do much about it now.

Great Price/Great Room/Great Location
I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. I travel to NYC at least once a year & have stayed in numerous hotels there. Candlewood Suites was a great experience. My room was on the 31st floor with a city view which I think helped. The room was clean & comfortable with a kitchenette. Bathroom was large enough. Hotel has free laundry on lower level, small workout room but I went to a local gym instead. The staff at the Hotel was extremely nice & helpful. I would definitely return.

Top New York Hotel!!!
Myself and my husband stayed here for 3 nights on our first visit to New York and we were a bit apprehensive about what we would get for the very reasonable price. We needn't have worried!! The hotel is fantastic and the amenities were very good. Unfortunately the complimentary coffee machine for guests was out of order for our visit so we couldn't take advantage of this perk but it was a minor issue. We asked for a room away from the road in front of the hotel as there was good bit of building work going on around and we wanted to be able to sleep and they accommodated this without any problems.The bed was extremely comfortable! The location was excellent and was in striking distance of all the tourist venues. We were going on to a cruise after our stay and the hotel were kind enough to allow us to store our luggage with them when we returned as we had about 5 hours to kill before our taxi picked us up to take us back to the airport. Thank you! Would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!!

If you want good real ale and lovely food try the real ale pub the next block up from the hotel on West 40th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue. Fantastic and within staggering distance to the hotel!!
