The appearance of the Hotel is very bad.
We were ver disapointed with the contruction work that was going on. No personal service from the staff. You just come and go as you please with not questions asked. It made us question the security. We were also a little taken back by the fact that there was none of the following available to the customers: pool, gift shop, lounge area, restaurant, face clothes or cab service. We had to go out on the street to flag a cab for ourselves.

Great Location!!!
The location was great, but I would not have stayed there if I had known it was under construction. The room was very small and the bathroom you could hardly move. There was no cold water unless you let the water run for about 5 minutes on full. Asked for more pillows and tea and did not recieve either. Did not have a hand towel or face cloth after the first day. The vending machines did not work. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience in the city.

Not your expected 3 stars
This is definitely not a typical 3 star hotel although the name says so. It's so small everywhere, from the lobby to rooms. The bathtub was disgusting and the hallway was so dark. We stayed at 10th floor but still can hear the noise from the street. The AC was very noisy. The front desks were friendly and the nice thing is that you can store your luggages after check out for just $1 if you still stay in the city for late night fly. Overall the hotel is overpriced, however, for that location, everything is overpriced, so I have nothing else to say but I will not return for sure.

dirty, old, rooms correct and reformet.
when we arrive, my wife had been cried. Was our married travel. The recepcion was dirty and in reformation. The american staff has been very, very bad (not professional and not sweet with de customers). The spanish and India staff had been perfect, very good and help and attent us always. The unic possitive were the localitacion. For go with family is not good hotel. The rooms were smalls, and with a lot of exterior noise. Did'nt hads especial windows. Tne rooms were cleaned normal. In resum: a good localitation. Non romantic. Not very clean. In general, with excepcion like José and a latin women and indian man, bad staff. I am sorry. Not recomendended. Has to be better.

Great location, bad interior.
The location is great. The decor was the strangest I have ever seen, almost Bates Motel looking (creepy). We even brought our friends up to see it because we couldn't really describe it. It has made for great conversation. Not really sure the decorator knows what they are doing. The hotel it self was under major contruction. There was no restroom in the lobby, we had to go next door to a resturant to use theirs. When it is finished it will be better, but the rooms were already done and if thats what the whole hotel looks like that will be weird. The main thing is that it is a great location and it was clean.

Construction Site!!
The hotel having "minor construction done" is a HUGE understatement. I felt like I was staying at a construction site. The staff wasn't exactly rude, but wasn't all that nice either. Our room was tiny and windowless, and we could hear construction noise throughout our stay. The "lobby" is an under construction crowded hallway, where all the luggage was piled on top of one another. The elevators were also tiny, and didn't feel all that safe. (The stairs are blocked off... fire hazard?) The only good thing about this hotel is the location... actually the location is spectacular. Especially after a night of drinking in Times Square that lasted until 4AM. It was nice to stumble a block or two and be back at our hotel! You literally walk outside and you are smack in the middle of Times Square. I put that I would not stay there again... but if the hotel finishes renovations and is a little bit nicer, I probably would. But the price will probably go up when that happens, and then it wouldn't be a deal!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Olympic Diner is about a block and a half from the hotel, and is a great cost-efficient place for breakfast. The service there was good and so was the food.

Under construction
Lobby area under construction - near disaster. Staff put on a good face tho - helpful & tried to be cheery. Very small room & bathroom. BUT... 1/2 block east is Broadway & the north end of Times Square. So you really are in the middle of the theater district, shopping, & generally tourist "stuff". Several subway lines nearby take you pretty much anywhere in NYC. If you want a luxurious room to spend a lot of time in, this isn't it. If you need a basic room in the middle of Manhattan where everything works OK and you've got a place to change clothes, clean up, or crash for the night, this works just fine.

Get the multi-ride subway passes. The NYC subway system is surprisingly easy to use. It is clean, safe, fast, & goes just about everywhere.

Great location....small room
The hotel was actually under construction during our visit, so it was initially difficult to find. The location was great...steps from Broadway theaters and Times Square, a reasonable walk to Central Park, and the subway is everywhere. The room was actually clean, but the housekeepers did not pay attention to some details like no towels, soap in sink, etc. But overall not a bad deal.

Undisclosed Remodeling
I know this hotel for years. This time though I was totally surprised to find a construction site instead of a modestly-priced quite hotel. My opinion: both, hotel staff and Cheap Tickets, must inform their clients about this very important problem. The other problem was absence of a minibar in my room. I don't believe hotel information site mentioned this.
