OK rooms- horrible service
Hotel under construction. 10 minute minimum wait for elevators. Rooms kinda clean?! Horrible service- horrible! Dont bother calling front desk for ANYTHING- you wont get it. Ya, with all the great hotels in NYC, this one should come in last.

Under construction, worlds smallest room
Missed out on sleeping and relaxing due to the construction and the smallness of the room, something they failed to mention when I booked my reservation. I was told it was a standard room... Ha.

NOT A FOUR STAR!!!!!!!!!!
Our experience at this hotel was not a good one. Mainly due to the staff at the front desk. They need to learn about customer service and that the customer comes first. While I stood there waiting in a extremely slow moving line, the desk people failed to pull up three reservations for people and immediatly blamed it on the customer. My resevation was included. I along with the others had to ask them to look further which got a careless attitude. On of the people at the desk just up and walked away because her shift seemed to be over leaving two other customers standing in the dark. The when the next desk person came (after several minutes) he looked down and pretended we werent standing there for several more minutes. I as the customer believe this is extremely rude. Patiently we stood there. He told the couple in front of me he couldnt help them in a non caring attitude and tried to the same to me, fortunately i was persistant and managed to get a place to stay for the night. Second so everyone knows they swipe your credit card with the old style carbon copy which is a huge identity theft risk. When I ask them if i could have the carbon back at the end of my stay. I was given a "i guess but i dont know what your issue is attitude." Im sorry but my identity has been stolen and this hotels system has a flaw. Third be aware the elevators are super slow and you can find your self stuck staring at the elevator dial for a good 5min watching it pass your floor several times. I is extremely frustrating. Last complaint...not exactly attention to detail in cleaning. My coffee pot had old coffee and the toilet and tub were not all that clean. Also our alarm clock(new ipod one) was broken. I would expect this from a two or maybe three star hotel but they are claiming to be four star and i just dont see it. I think they should re-evaluate there rating or step it up a bit because I along with those other people paid a good amount of money for a nights stay and it should be worth it.

"Bring your own water"
It may have small rooms but it is an old NY building so that didn't bother me. My room card key had to be re-programed but that happens with so many other hotels. What I found annoying was the lack of vending machine, they are not on every floor and the one I did go to didn't work. When I reported it to the desk they said they would have some one look at it. When I asked where I could get a bottle of water I was directed to to outside to resturant next door, which did look like it had take out. I had to go down the street. The room did not have any printed info about the hotel or the services it offered.

Nice with some weak points
Rooms are definitely very small, even for NYC standards, even in the Deluxe version. Very noisy unless you are lucky enough to get a room in the upper floors. Nice hype style and clean atmosphere. For the amenities, the coffee maker was disappointing and the free internet didn't work. The Ipod dock was a great asset. I wish the bed would have been more comfortable. All in all, a nice hotel with some weak points deserving consideration should you get a nice bargain.

Has potential but isn't living up to it.
When we checked in the desk clerk said they were having trouble with their key system, so if our key didn't work they would let us into the room and they would get us a new key once the system was back up. Later on, one of the staff told us that the system has been broken for weeks. Every time we came and went from our room we had to get someone from downstairs to let us into the room. The lobby bar was nicely redone, but we could barely make it through one drink because the bellman had propped the inside door open and kept opening the outside door so that he could stand in the open doorway and see what was going on outside. The bartender tried to close the inside door a couple of times but he kept propping it open again. The heating / cooling unit in our room wouldn't stay on cool. It would cool the room to a certain point then the heat would kick in. The front desk said they would send someone up to look at it, but they never showed. After fiddling with the settings for a while I was able to get it somewhat cool but the whole process was frustrating. There were some helpful and friendly individual staff, but they were overshadowed by the overall poor service experience. The Deluxe room wasn't noticeably larger than the Standard but they did have a desk. I didn't need the desk but assumed that the Deluxe would also be a larger room. Shame on me.

Nice attempt, but doesn't deliver
The lobby has been updated and gives it a boutique feel. But unfortunately the hotel didn't deliver. I turned the heat up before going to bed because the room was cold. When I woke up the room was freezing -- there was no heat. I called and the front desk said the engineer would have to work on my room -- could they wait until I was gone. It was so cold that I requested another room -- there was no way I would have been able to get ready! They switched my room within 20 minutes, although they did want me to go down for the key and no apology. But not too bad. However, the next day I woke up with a tight business schedule and there was no hot water. I waited. And waited. Still nothing. I called the front desk. It took about 40 rings to get anyone. Then they said they'd have the engineer take a look and then hung up. No "I'm so sorry about this, thank you for brining it to our attention." The hotel manager needs to retrain the staff and needs to address fundamental building maintenance issues. No heat and no hot water are serious issues.

Location is good, but Room is not good
Operater was very bad attitude, I told Hotel Manager, But he did not feed back to me before I check out. Aircon was too noisy, and heating was not working well, so feel very cold.
