A Lot Lacking
In NYC for 5 nights during the US Open, cleanliness, location, value and amenities were my criteria. I knew I was in trouble when the hotel reservation was short 1 (prepaid) night. Room barely big enough for a double bed. Iron, no ironing board. Housekeeping woke me up to ask if I wanted my room serviced - Do Not Disturb was hanging. Tiny shower always flooded bathroom door. Old grunge in bathroom corners. Asked for TV channel guide - none available. Incorrectly told to turn to 78 for guide. Bell men standing in front of door felt no responsibility to help open door when I entered or left.

Get a bus/subway map and get comfortable using public transportation. Personnel and passengers willingly answer questions and time/$ savings are tremendous.

Family getaway
Found a ant in the bed, elevators can only fit three people. Staff was professional but the housekeepers can use an upgrade on the uniform, very old fashioned. Faucet water had a smell to it, very disgusting. Room was very small and it gave me the creeps to eat my takeout in there. Overall I highly DO NOT recommend this hotel to and family with children that like to be clean and wash up in a clean bathroom. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the toilet was stopped up. I had a very bad experience for my family first trip to New York.

Sightseeing trip to New York
We chose this hotel because of it's location and price and were totally satisfied with our choice. We were able to walk to Broadway shows, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and subway stations. We were treated well by the hotel employees and they were ready with answers for our many questions. I would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone looking for cheaper accomodations.

Sleeping with rodents
Hated the hotel! Our room wasn't ready on time. Then when it was finally ready they gave us room keys that didn't work. When we got the door open the first thing we see is a rodent running across the floor from the closet to under the sofa!!! I told the front desk guy who was with us "I can't sleep here. Get us another room". He says "Sorry we're booked" I said call an exterminator he replied that he couldn't. My son and I flip the sofa over (the employee didn't offer to help) to try to find "it". It had made it under an ac unit that was close to the floor behind the sofa, we couldn't get to it. I had to take sleeping pills to sleep in that room. At this point switching rooms didn't help, in my mind the hotel probably had rodents all over. The bathroom door had a lock but it didn't work. The hallway leading to our room were dark and had no a/c or ventilation. The staff was not pleasant. I called American Express to dispute the charge (something I've never done before). I will never stay at this hotel again.

New York get away
I was not impress with their customer service. Our room had a whole in the wall and I asked them to fix it the first day! 7 days later the whole was still there! We left and no fixing was done, after I me asking them to fix it at least 3 times. Nothing happened, hotel is not in bad location! But it needs MANAGEMENT....I would not go back.. the small refrigerator in the room made more noise than my lawnmower! They didn't change it either. Not good experience in that hotel...from someone in California!

Very good location, but tiny room!
The best part of this hotel is location because it is honestly 1 minute walking from Time Square and in the heart of Theater District. It was very convenient to walk to Grey line tour buses main stop, only 2-3 minutes, just turn left to 8th street. Subway stop was also with small walking distance. The room was very small with a window facing a brick wall, but clean. It was only 2 of us, my daughter and I, but it was tight. We had a queen size bed. They also do not have air conditioner in the hallways, so it was kind of hot. Elevators are very small, so you may have to wait for a while to get to your floor. Overall, we were gone most of the time, so location was much more important, and in the room we got everything we needed. On the pictures, this hotel looked much better then reality.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
Very close to most of the theaters, Time Square and Rockefeller Center. If you would rather spend money for entertainment like tickets to the theater rather then hotel, then stay at this hotel.
