excelent location that's it
The hotel has an excelent location, the rooms are not that clean, it's really old, and the sheets are not really white and shiny. The ladies in the reception are CERO friendly and always have a long face.

Nice Location and Clean Hotel
The Best Western President Hotel at Times Square was a great choice for my daughter and me on our first visit to NYC. We went to NYC with the intention of seeing plays and visiting museums and parks. The hotel was in easy walking distance to all of the Broadway plays and close to the TKTS booth. Plus, it offered a quiet night's sleep because its location is mid-48th Street between 8th and 7th AVES. In addition, several subway locations were within one to two blocks, allowing us to avoid the crowded streets to the 42nd Street hub on over to Grand Central or from 50th up to Columbus Circle. Our original room was fine, but I inquired if they had an available room with a balcony; they did and readily accommodated. If you want a balcony room, I'd suggest requesting the 13th floor on the 48th Street side. While we didn't spend a lot of time in the room, it was clean/sufficient to suit our needs, the climate easy to maintain, and the showers always warm. A nice Irish Pub and Thai restaurant are next door, and a convenient Food Emporium is within a block and a half distance. Our only complaint was that some days we only received one wash cloth after maid service:).

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Unless you want to see Wicked or Lion King, wait and get your tickets for Broadway/off-Broadway shows at one of the TKTS booths in NY, i.e. don't order online from home. The available seats are excellent and the savings worth the fifteen minute wait, much better savings than on online discount ticket offer. Also, try the theater box office same day for greatly reduced prices.

Great location, OK housekeeping
The hotel was in a great location. Just blocks from Time Square! However, the housekeeping could have been more generous with their towels and such. Each day something was reduced that our last day only having two towels, no washcloths or hand towels. The front desk was great. They gave us suggestions on where to eat and on various Broadway shows. Thank you!

Great location, rooms very small.
The lobby has been decorated very nice and the rooms have been remodeled but they are still very small. Bathroom is old fashion. The sink did not drain for 2 days. No wash clothes for 2 days. The tub was so little that only a child could take a bath in it. Our TV never worked. The maid left all her cleaning supplies, vaccum cleaner and cart in the hall around the corner from our room all day and night. Never was put away. The bar was in the lobby, but was never open and when it was, there was very little to pick from. They advertised a continental breakfast, but did not offer one. Location was close to everything so that made up for alot of things.

Great experience, great location
Great location, nice staff, clean, quiet enough. The smallish rooms are expected for the price. I said four stars, my wife said two (for the small rooms, baths), so we settled at three. If seeing the City with a comfortable, safe refuge at night is your goal, this is your place.

good deal, perfect location
The hotel is in the perfect location in midtown Manhattan! It is very modern and the staff was friendly. The only problem was that for some reason there was no hot water! I was not in the hotel much and it was the summer so I did not bother to bring it up to the staff. It was such a good deal for the location and my room had plenty of windows and a balcony.

Well Done.
Hotel staff very accommodating. Great central location to Times Square in NYC and subway. Unfortunately, construction was occurring each morning on the property below our room. Hotel apologized and offered us breakfast vouchers and a later check out time. Rooms smaller than pictures depict. Old building with poor fixtures. Great decorations.
