Good for Price
The room was small, but not crazy small. Comfortable and chic. I ended up with two full size beds instead of the queen size I reserved, but no big deal. I think they're "european style" beds, because my feets definitely hung off the end, and i' only 5'10'', but it was still comfy. The staff was friendly enough. The elevators were slow. I don't know why elevator speed is a concern for people on [...], but in case it is for you, they're definitely slow. I liked the dimly lit hallways -- it felt relaxing and modern. The air conditioners were definitely having a hard time keeping up -- and it was only about 75 degrees outside. I'd be hesitant to stay there in the height of summer.

Great quiet place
Room was quiet which surprised me considering the proximity to the FDR. Nice view of the East River. Convenient spot - easy to get in and out. Easy to get a taxi. Parking under the hotel (with a gas station no less - a rarity in NY!) at a very reasonable price for hotel guests. Friendly staff.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Several casual restaurants to choose from just a block away - a good diner & a hamburger place.I put a 1 for dining options because we didn't use any of the dining at the hotel & there is no option for that. How do you rate something you didn't use?

Reasonably good value
Everything about the hotel was fine. The room was comfortably cool. I am a value traveler. Internet - wifi - was not free. Free internet would have added a lot of value.

Great location, price and food
I stayed at the hotel because it was a great value close to Sloan Kettering where a friend was having an operation. It was only a 5 block walk. The room was clean, the people were fantastic and I had one of the best Veal Marsala dinners ever. If I had one complaint, it was the first night where my room was a little warm (I like to sleep in a room at 65 degrees). Turing the temperature down all the way did not seem to have any impact. Otherwise a great experience.

Great location
We are two former New Yorkers on a quick trip to visit friends and family. This location was great for us. The room was great and the staff professional and pleasant. Only two minor quibbles: 1) coffee is available 11am to 11pm, but morning coffee would be more appreciated. 2) it would be helpful to have computers available to guests to check e-mail, print return boarding passes, etc. We don't travel with laptops, since most hotels provide this service.

For those who know Manhattan (or are willing to be adventurous), The Bentley is an easy walk to major subway and bus lines, saving time and money on taxis.

You could die here. Disaster ahead.
I had a serious fall on their wet painted entry floor. Their are no doormen or sufficient staff to offer assistance or monitor and control entry. Absolutely nothing. Keep in mind, their building has 22-floors and is situated between a 24-hour major manhattan gas station and an emergency animal hospital . Despite this, still no one at front door. The front desk staff all did not know what to do and appear to be completely untrained on how to offer assistance. They were clueless. Even the minimum such as a request for a bit of ice will be denied when the injury is serious and swelling. Call your own medic if you need help. Even their restaurant denies having ice or basic ingredients such as skimmilk for tea, etc. Reporting everything afterwards t the manager is also a shocking outcome: the manager argues rather than listens. Here, "arguing" means interrupting in a belligerent manner. He then will tell you it's so he can "understand" what you already told him twice. There are a few other problems that worry me deeply that I cannot detail here. Bottomline: I consider this place a covering-up got something possibly much more dangerous and that for my experience alone, I apparently only encountered the basic clues of it.

Tip: Noguchi Studio/Museum (Queens) and The Cloisters (The Metropolitan Museum's satellite located at 1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street New York, New York 10028-0198; tel. 212-535-7710 is dedicated to medieval European art) both worth the effort. Another little-known and interesting museum within the city is the Rubins Museum, dedicated to art of the Himalayas, located at 150 West 17th Street, New York, NY 10011; tel. 212.620.5000.
