Has it all!

My family stayed at the Shelburne Murray Hill for one night only at the end of a nine day vacation. Having 4 people in one <200 square foot room for 8 days would have anyone appreciate the two rooms/two tvs we had at the Shelburne Murray Hill but even more than that, it was a very comfortable, nice, plush and clean one bedroom apartment that made us feel at home immediately. The staff were extra nice and very helpful. The rooftop view was awesome and the bar was lively too, serving some most excellent martinis. The food and service at Rare were superb and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of our stay at the Shelburne Murray Hill.

Shelburne Has What I Need

When choosing a hotel in NY, I am seeking five specific things: 1. A good fitness center 2. Access to a washing machine and dryer 3. A clean and comfortable room 4. On-site restaurant and bar 5. In-room coffee maker The Shelburne certainly meets my requirements. I have enjoyed all of my stays there. My room was smaller than others at comparably priced hotels, but that's not a problem for me. Location is convenient, too.

Very family friendly

Kitchenette very helpful with family needs. We did not like having to go down to the basement for vending machines, but simply did not go but the one unfortunate time. Rooms very spacious and well appointed. Staff very eager to help and when called-upon were extremely accomodating. We will definitely use this hotel the next time we are in NYC

More for less

This hotel gives more for less in that the room is a suite of ample size with a kitchen nook, living room, bedroom. No 'bed in a box' here. Good staff, clean. Hard to find any negatives, but I'm worried that too many will find out about the value here and I'll never get back in (or will pay uptown rates). Lot's of local eateries with local clientele who live in this area. Not much fancy dining, but that's the way I like it. We like Duke's around the corner.

It's just 4 blocks from 42nd street where there is a nice bus (#42) that takes you to the southern edge of times square/theater district for $2 each.

Very convenient and a good value.

This was my first time staying at the Affinia Shelburne and it was a real treat. The location was perfect for all of my mid-town appointments and although the room was not large, it didn't feel cramped. The room appeared newly renovated as was the bath. The lobby, sitting areas and attached restaurant were also comfortable. The staff was helpful as I had business papers delivered to the hotel and they notified me immediately of its arrival.

Great Hotel

Loved the location of the hotel!! While we had to take a cab to some of our further destinations (Statue of Liberty, Guggenheim, etc.), we were able to comfortably walk to other sites such as Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Additionally, the hotel staff was very helpful.
