Affinia Shelburne New York

This hotel is one of the best NYC hotels I have stayed at. I travel to NYC twice a year and I have never stayed in a more beautiful big spacious, clean room as I did in the Affinia. The bed is a king, very comfortable with central air that cooled off the room nicely for the summer. There was also another room within my room (suite type) and a small kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave. The bathroom was new, clean and beautiful. The room I had faced East so there was no annoying noise when I slept at night (which is very rare for NYC.) The staff was great. I have no complaints at all. Since I have not stayed in the Murray Hill area before, I was pleasantly surprised and will certainly stay there again. It is surrounded by everything one needs within walking distance, and it is close to Grand Central Station. Also, good restaurant "Rare" in the hotel, and a wonderful rooftop bar to hang out at with a great view of the Empire State and Chrysler Blds.

Went to New York for vacation. Got a great room that was clean and with a great view. Service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The only downside was that the housekeeping carts were kept out in the hallway in front of our room.....and housekeeping also threw away a muffin I was saving for later, but I just got another one. Other than that, the room and location of hotel was great. This is about a 5 minute walk from Grand Central-42nd St station.

Location of the hotel was perfect. Fairly close to everything. Best thing was that since it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to a better suite for free. Roof top bar was also excellent..

Loved the location of the hotel!! While we had to take a cab to some of our further destinations (Statue of Liberty, Guggenheim, etc.), we were able to comfortably walk to other sites such as Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Additionally, the hotel staff was very helpful.

great friendly service , rooms good size and clean though need to be updated (brown walls should never be seen in a hotel) good location quieter area though easy to walk to subway grand central terminal , bryant park , empire state , macys broadway etc , good restaurant downstairs with great burgers, friendly doormen (arranged to keep out bags for us as flight delayed and arranged taxi to airport for a good price) and concierge service, good restaurant tips and arranged broadway show. mary poppins is a must see. good deli down the road called blooms (thanks to chris the concierge) if you want 5 star then im afraid you wont get it here , pay 5 star and stay elsewhere , what you get here is a very clean basic hotel with very friendly people , just please sort out the lifts .

Great hotel for exploring Manhattan. Stayed for 3 nights. Two-room suite was great for family stay. In-house restaurant serves good breakfast (not included in hotel price). Room was attended to promptly every day and was very clean. Staff had excellent recommendations for restaurants located close to hotel.

First time in NY, so cannot really compare like for like, however found this hotel to be conveniently located and room/bed/bathroom were all excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Convenient to Grand Central Station, Times Square & Empire State - all easily walkable. Hotel restuarant was excellent ( if slightly expensive), and there are numerous excellent alternatives within sight of main door. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and will definately return if back in NY

The Hotel itself is nice for New York. We stayed in Room 825 which was very large for NY Standards and quiet as it was off the main street (Lexington). The decor is nice. Our main complaints were that it took several calls down to the desk to get more toilet paper and pillows and when they did come, it took 30 min to deliver. The maids were lazy in their cleaning and the shampoo/conditioner were cheap so bring your own. Other than that, good place and great location, not far from Grand Central Station.

Location was great. Could get a taxi so fast. Loved the breakfast before heading out to the art museums. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
