Affinia Manhattan New York

The Affinia Manhattan is well located but on our recent stay we found the lobby to be completely under construction, the room we booked unavailable and the room we were given unsuitable. My friend and I had booked two double beds and were given a King and a pullout couch. According to Affinia staff a pull-out couch is just as good as a bed...since when! When I asked about wi-fi they decided to give it to us for free rather than the outrageous 14.95 a day. When we got our bill they had charged us for it and we had to go and stand in line and get it changed. The bathroom had a shower with no bath and the grout had seen better/cleaner days. I won't be rushing back to Affinia

This was a great stay for a my friedns bday weekend. Centrally located right across the street from Penn Station and block away from the train station. (one stop away from Time Square) For the price and location this was a great deal. We had two double beds that were comfortable and when we asked for extra blankets it was brought to our room promptly. We also had a small kitchenette fully equipped. Came in handy for breakfast as I cooked the following morning ended up saving money and got to sleep in. 2checks for that!! I informed the hotel it was my friend birthday and they were nice enough to give her a NYC shirt upon arrival as well as a complementary bottle of Wine!! Cons-There were some majorrrrrr drafts coming through the windows, its an old building and even though renovated that aspect has been left untouched but we survived it was doable to say the least. There is also no ice machine but they brought some up to our room so we were happy. Overall great stay, I would stay again because of the location and affordability. Thanks Affinia.

Was in town for a reunion and this hotel was offering the best deal for that day so I booked it. Glad I did! Location couldn't be any more convenient to the trains and midtown area in general, doorman and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, lobby was large (but bland, not very interesting to sit in and a little confusing with small side rooms and doors to nowhere) and the room was spotless...nothing fancy but quite comfortable. Linens and pillows were very nice quality! The amenities in general were good and there is a great restaurant next door (and a Starbucks across the street). Would stay here again and be quite happy. A definite recommend.

I found the Affinia to be a great place to stay. It was centrally located and the staff were very helpful. We were on the 13th floor and you certainly could hear the street noise but I expected that since it was in the middle of mid-town Manhattan. I was surprised by what a nice size the room was. We had 2 double beds a small sitting area and a small kitchenette. Overall we were very pleased.

Check in staff were very helpful - happy to offer us their best room in the category we chose - rather than simply allocating us one. The room was very spacious - far better than we we expected for a NY hotel! Very central location - right in the middle of Manhattan - directly opposite Madison Square Gardens and Penn Station - just a few mins walk from Times Square. Excellent. A lovely cafe almost next door for breakfast - good fresh food prepared to order. Recommended. Oh - and Philosophy toiletries - no skimping there!

The Affinia was beautifully remodeled and decorated. The staff was friendly, attentive and very helpful; everyone from the registration agents, the concierge and the doorman. The mid-town location across from Penn Station made getting around on the subway easy, even for a newbie like me. If you're in decent shape, walking to Time Square, Soho, the Empire State Building abd the Fashion Disctrict was easy.

The hotel and accomodations were fine. We stayed 4 in a 1 BR suite. It served the purpose of having a place to sleep and by NYC standards I guess it is a suite. However, we requested a early check-in (before 3pm) but still did not have our room ready until 3:30. THe hotel did hold our bags but it set us back from planned activities a bit. I know they can't guarantee an early check-in, but they really should have it ready AT 3pm at the latest...

Really good experence overall. A bit noisy on the street outside for my travel companion, especially on Friday & Sat night. Staff friendly & helpful
