Affinia Dumont

Ideally located in Midtown East, the hotel is a quick walk from Penn Station, and restaurants, subway stops, and neighborhood services abound. Great studio apt. with a small, but full kitchenette, nice bathroom, and comfy bed and great desk in a large room overlooking 34th St. Each floor is small (4 to 6 rooms) so it's quiet. Friendly, helpful concierage and nice front desk and bell staff. Super clean rooms and a great value for the money. Go. Stay here. Hotel Restaurant is great too.

We met friends there, so they chose the hotel. They chose well! The hotel is near enough to walk to the subways, which was wonderful. We had a personal tour guide of the city who took us on a 6-hour walking tour. We were able to see so much more this way than we could possibly have seen on our own. Rooms have a small kitchen that can be quite handy, with a market just up the street. Some rooms on upper floors have fabulous views of the Chrysler Building. When we visit the city again, we will likely choose the Affinity Dumont again for its location, cleanliness, comfort, and roominess for the price.

I stay here often, large spacious rooms which is unheard of in NY, clean and convenient to mid-town or south. Great location.

Hotel check in was effortless and quick. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a couple of requests made of the staff, extra blanket, pillows, restaurant recommendations, and souvenirs and all were handled perfectly. We reserved a junior suite which was very comfortable for one adult and teen, and included a small kitchen that was perfect for leftovers and small meals/snacks. The location is a little of the beaten path which means it feels a little more private and quiet, which we liked. The 33rd street subway, #6 train, is a short walk away (4 or so blocks). We also found that the sightseeing double-decker tours make stops that are within walking distance and so a couple of times were hopped on/off and walked to/from the hotel without incurring another cab fare. There are neighborhood restaurants and delicatessens, but would expect those staying longer that a few days will venture beyond that via cab to find other choices. The fitness center is small, but looks well appointed, but I thought the steam showers were most enjoyable…after 25 minutes of relaxing warm steam bath you are ready for another sightseeing trip.

From the moment we stepped out of the cab, the staff of the Dumont was there to make sure all of our needs were met. Everyone from the friendly doorman, Jubar, to the front desk, concierge, and maid service helped to make our first trip to NY a wonderful experience. The location is perfect for sightseeing,and the rooms are super clean, roomy and quiet. We will definately stay at the Affinia Dumont the next time we are in NY!

I love the Affinia Dumont. It's such a nice, classy, clean little hotel in the perfect location. Murray Hill is a safe, friendly neighborhood packed with good eats and good bars. It's handy to the subway at 33rd street, and it's a nice walk to shopping.

Decent location - a good place to get breakfast just up the road, walking distance to empire state and crysler building. Fast internet but have to pay.

Great Rooms, super locationg

The room was amazing.We had a junior suite. We were there to see the ball drop and vacation in new york. The location was great, 6 minutes walking to time square, 2 blocks from empire state building, and the barking dog ( restaurant at the hotel) had great food. Mini market at the end of block was open 24 hours had salads, sandwiches, burgers and groceries. Also 2 dollar fiji water (the same size as the 7 dollar ones in the room). I will stay here numerous times if traveling to New York.

We spent 4 days touring, shopping and seeing shows. The concierge was a waste of time unless you are an inexperienced traveler. We were very careful not to consume or use all the products for sale strewn about the room. We also knew not to use the phone. They still insisted on charging $94.36 for a 34 minute call that was made when we were not in the room. They insisted we made it but we knew we didn't. They couldn't believe there is a glitch in thier system or a security issue. The managers were the rudest to talk to and they wouldn't even return calls or emails. I filed a dispute with my credit card. This rude staff ruined what was actually a pleasant stay in NYC. The room and location was good but hopefully some other company will acquire and manage it.
