STAY HERE!!!!
Great hotel experience. Located in a great location central in Manhatten, walking distance to many locations. Room was large for New York standards, and very clean, including the bathrooms. They have a workout facility on second floor which is Ok. Next door restauration is average to below average, with so many other restaurations, go somewhere else. No WIFI or jack to hook up to computer. So, if planning on spending a lot of time in room, probably would go somewhere else. However, for comfort and a room that will be clean and close to everything, highly recommend it.

Great for business or personal travel
Very nice staff and great accomodations. Getting a bit worn, but still very comfortable. Bed was fantastic as was the view uptown and of the East River. Location is perfect for tourists or others returning to visit friends. I was moments away from everything uptown or down.

Hudson Place for brunch is a must. Excellent and reasonably priced. Do not miss El Parador's between 1st and 2nd on 34th. Outstanding Mex. Wish there had been a WHERE magazine in the room for other eateries close to the hotel.

NYC is Fanfreakingtastic
This was our first trip to NYC and it couldn't have been any better. The Affinia Dumont located at 34th and Lexington was absolutely perfect. First the hotel staff were super friendly and our room was great. The pic's are exactly as shown. It is very clean and in a very safe central neighbourhood. Check in and check out are so easy and simple. The cleanliness was amazing. This hotel should definitely not be a 3 1/2 star.

Short walk from hotel
We arrived in La Guardia which I am certain was the right choice. It was a quick 15 minute ride to our hotel. Beware of the shuttles that are offered outside of the terminal. While the prices are good, be warned no matter what they say that the shuttle is not direct to your hotel on arrival or departure. But if you're ok with going for a little ride then it's a good deal. We choose to hop off at Union Station and walk to our hotel. We choose to eat breakfast and lunch on the go but for dinners we ate in the neighbourhood. We were eating amoungst the locals which is more our fare. There are lots of eating options close by.

Always a pleasure
I have been staying at this hotel about 5 nights a month as I work close by. The staff is extremely nice and recognizes me every time I come back. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I usually stay in the L shaped Junior suite and it allows plenty of room and a great desk are for work. Just last time I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was just super. Good attention to detail. The pillow menu is a nice touch as I always get the MP3 pillow that allows me to attach my ipod. If you register at their site, your pillow (and other items you can select) will be in your room when you check in.

Spacious Accomodations, Great Location
Affinia Dumont made for a delightful home base while visiting NYC. Our room had a kitchen, sofa/living room area, desk with fax (Internet access/printer in lobby), king bed and roomy private bath an a very affordable price. We were pleasantly shocked when we opened the door. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive and the next door bar/restaurant with courtyard was a delightful place to meet our friends. Great location, great experience ... we highly recommend it and will definitely stay there on our next visit.

Long walk from hotel
We did a 3-hour walking food tour of Central (Greenwich) Village/Soho operated by Food Tours of New York, Inc. ... very enjoyable and something different to try. They take you into the nooks and crannies of the City to find hidden culinary treasures that you'd never find on your own. Yummy and fun!

My favorite NY City hotel
Love this hotel, my preferred place to stay while in the city. The location is not only convenient, it is a relatively quiet area and feels safe. Close walking distance from the Garment District. Plenty of places to dine close by. Wonderful Tai restaurant next door. It is also wonderful to have an inhouse fitness center.

Not bad at all
In general, my experience was a good one. I didn't, however, partake of all the services available; I simply used the room. So my comments should be interpreted bearing this in mind. There were a couple of lights not functioning in my room, but I didn't find this problematic at all. There was certainly enough functioning lighting in the room. The main room, bathroom and kitchen were all clean. It was quiet. I especially liked being able to control the temperature in my space. I was taken aback by the charges to make phone calls, even local calls. And, I was also taken aback by the cost to access the internet (not necessarily that there was a cost but the amount of it). But, as I said at the start, my experience was generally a good one.

Absolutely Wonderful Hotel Experience!
Front desk was responsive and friendly. I had sent an e-mail requesting a room with a view because we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. They provided a spectacular room with a complimentary bottle of wine and an anniversary card. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet at night. We loved it here! The bed was so comfortable and they have a spa here where I was able to get a massage after a long day of walking.
