A real gem
It's always pot-luck when you travel to a new city and pick a hotel from a long list. But glad to say that 70 Park Avenue was a really lucky find. Both intimate and professional with great Concierge service, so important in a city like New York where you have so much to see in so short a time. Superb location, 5 minutes from Grand Central, no more than 10 minutes from the Empire State Building, and right on the no 6 Subway. Macey's and 5th Avenue shopping, Broadway, Times Square, Madison Square Gardens,Central Park, all within walking distance. Rooms were modern, clean and well equipped. Would suit both couples and families. Well recommended.

Depending upon your budget of course, 5th Avenue is not the best place to do your shopping; too long and placed firmly at the top end of the market. Stick to the department stores, for ease, speed, and choice.

Great location and service
Great service. I had several business meetings in the lobby and bar. Complementary beverages available all day long including wine in the later afternoon.

Great, cozy hotel!
We did the typical tourist stuff. It was 2 blocks from Grand Central. Very easy to ride the subway anywhere you need to go.

Great place to stay!
This hotel was in a great location, walking distance to all my favorite spots! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the complimentary beverages in the lobby was a great addition! The rooms are very clean but small. The walls are thin and you can hear the doors of neighboring rooms opening and closing. That won't keep me away from staying there again, I'll definately be going back.

Walking the short distance up 5th avenue and Madison was lots of fun whether you're shopping or just window shopping.

Great
Personal touch and friendly staff. Free lemonade,toys and wine from 5 pm till 6 pm. Kids were trilled.

Most pleasant NYC Experience
Our room was very nice although the closet was so tiny that we could barely fit our clothes in, and we were only staying for two nights. There were some nice touches--wine was served in the lobby at around 5:00 and tea and coffee were served in the morning. As Kimpton Hotel members, we were permitted $15.00 worth of stuff from our mini-bar. One concern is that, because of some construction going on less than a block away, it was very noisy with the sound of trucks and heavy equipment.

Very nice.
Excellent location on Park Avenue. Quiet, compared to other night life hotels. We walked to shows, Grand Central, subway only 2 blocks away. All staff were friendly. Connected lounge had happy hour each night and jazz Tues-Thursday during happy hour. Nice touch. For NY hotels, a fairly nice entrance foyer with room to sit, talk and enjoy the experience.

Go to 1/2 price ticket location in Times Square if you want to go to the theatre and aren't particular what shows you want to see. It breaks up a day, but they are 1/2 price.
