Quick getaway to NYC

I wanted to take a fun but relaxed trip to NYC without a lot of fuss. This hotel was a bit off the beaten path, but not so far away that it was inconvenient. They provide a shuttle that will drop you at any of the several subway stops nearby, and pick you up as well. You can also walk to the subways within 15 mins. It was very simple to get to and from the airport using the subway/bus system (just make sure to have exact change in QUARTERS for the bus.) The staff at the hotel is lovely. When I checked in I was told that there would be several parties in the penthouse which would have been right above me, and I was asked if that would bother me. When I said yes, I was moved to a lower floor, and a better room with a lovely view of the bridge. I enjoyed the Penthouse restaurant and bar which has a gorgeous view of Manhattan as well as great food and drinks. The rooms are modern and clean and my bed was VERY comfortable. I would say that the lighting is a bit dim but other than that I did not have any complaints. I would stay here again for sure.

A taxi from the LaGuardia cost me $40. When I returned to depart NY I took the N train to the M-60 bus to the airport. It was a much shorter trip and it cost me $5.25. I just wish someone would have told me that the buses do NOT take paper money. So make sure to have the exact change in coins.

Close to Manhattan

Right across 59th street bridge. Parking on site. Lots of minibar goodies.

Never Again

We have stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience, so decided to spend two nights there this week to do some NYC adventuring. Upon arrival, there was construction on the building that was not mentioned when booked as we as half the parking lot was closed. The front desk told my husband to park our car "somewhere around the neighborhood" which we vehemently refused, as we did not feel comfortable leaving our car there and we aggravated that this was not mentioned to us prior. We waited over an hour for a spot to open and after trying to jockey all of the other double parked cars, we finally parked. Our room directly overlooked the construction site which was loud and noisy. At my request, the front desk moved our room to the other side of the hotel. That room faced the construction across the street. The room did not have sound proof windows so not only were we still awoken by construction each morning but the yelling of construction workers also. We paid $12 for breakfast in which after paying were told some of the options were sold out. At the end of our stay, we waited 30 minutes for the car double parked behind us to leave so we could. The rooms were dingier than I remembered and generally the place looks like everyone stopped caring.

Noisy Construction

Upon arrival, the parking lot was closed due to construction. There was no mention of that on site prior to reservation. The staff instructed me to park on the street under the Queensboro Bridge. I was a bit uneasy about leaving my car there overnight, so later that evening moved my car to a closer spot in front of hotel. The constructiion woke me up at 7 am. The room was clean but definitely needed a coat of paint. All of the walls were scuffed up.

First trip to NYC for our kids

The hotel was very nice. Located in an industrial area of Long Island City, we didn't feel like it was an area you could walk around in. The shuttle service to the subway station was very convenient. Overall, the stay was great. First trip for our kids to NYC and the views of Manhattan from the room (and the rooftop restaurant) were outstanding! Very nice staff. free parking was a great plus.

Always reliable stay!

I've stayed in a lot of different kinds of rooms, they upgraded me for free b/c it was a Tuesday night so I stayed in the Junior Penthouse suite. It's nice, has a balcony, looks out on the city. The only drawback was the previous hotel guest smoked outside but let the air creep in so the whole room smelled like smoke. This problem has never happened to me again, but makes me think twice before accepting a balcony room for that reason. Otherwise, this is my favorite hotel in the city.

Great value for a convenient location

I always stay here when I'm doing work in Long Island City. It is very convenient to get to, and to visit the city at night. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable as always. All in all another great stay.

Surprisingly nice, but unimpressed with food options

Considering this hotel is basically under a bridge, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was nicely decorated and not noisy inside. The staff was happy to upgrade me to a Penthouse room for no apparent reason, and I'm glad they did because it was a normal sized hotel room (I wonder how tiny the normal rooms must be?). The restaurant menu was extremely limited, though, and there aren't any food options around, or at least not ones that I wanted to explore alone at 10pm. Most importantly, the hotel had availability when my flight was cancelled and I needed a hotel convenient to LGA for a reasonable price.

Fantastic Stay, Great Staff

My family of 5 (my husband and I and our 3 daughters aged 12, 5 and 20 months), stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The room was quite large and big enough for all of us without us feeling on top of eachother. The girls especially enjoyed the 'sliding walls' of the bathroom. All of the staff were extremely helpful from the moment we arrived (organizing shuttle and recommending a local eatery which was just what we needed), to even organizing a baby seat from one of the other staff members. The restaurant had fabulous food for dinner and the rooftop views are unbelievable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
