Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, New York City in Queens, NY

Our family (2 adults, 8 yr, 10 yr) stayed at the Country Inn for 5 nights in May. The location was great. Very close to 2 subway stations that will get you anywhere in the city. And for much less cost than staying in Manhattan. We used the extra money we saved to go see The Lion King on Broadway. : ) The room itself was ok. It was spacious according to NY standards . It had 2 queen beds to accomodate the 4 of us. On the good side, the bed was very comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. The water was hot in the bathroom and we did not have any issues with hot showers even with the 4 of us taking showers the same night. On the bad side, I was slightly disappointed. The towel rail in the bathroom was not secure and constantly fell down... the bathroom could have been cleaner... the bedsheets had some stains on it... there was a water stain on the ceiling (we were on the top floor)... and water dripped from the smoke detector when it rained. I did not call the front desk about these concerns because we did not spend very much time in the hotel and we did not want anyone in our room while we were gone. We were only there in the morning when we woke up, and then later in the evening at the end of our day. The breakfast was the typical buffet style with waffles to be expected from this price point of hotels. I would stay here again. I was just a little disappointed because I was expecting a little better from the reviews I read online.

This is a great fine just two blocks and one subway stop from Manhattan and about $100 a night less than what you would pay to stay in the city. Nice hot breakfast, loved the waffles! The rooms are large for the area and spotless!

Very clean excellent hotel but the area is iffy and no parking.

NOT GOOD LOCATION ,HAS NO PARKING, Not SAFE to parking on street if you have good Expense automobil ,Pay parking near BUT Closed at 7PM ,not good, I got to Hotel 1am I have Not placed to Park I wiil Not leave my car on the street.

Hotel: This hotel was definitely renovated recently, and overall looks new and clean. I had no issues with the room whatsoever. My room was a good size for NYC area, and I had one of the smaller rooms in the hotel. All appliances and utilities worked well. Free breakfast was decent, staff was friendly. There were metal plates on the road outside the hotel which made a lot of noise whenever a car drove over them.. not the hotel's fault though. Location: There is not much going on directly around the hotel as it's mainly in an industrial type neighborhood with more businesses than residence. There's only a couple restaurants within walking distance, but there is a 24 hour mobile directly next door with plenty of snacks and a deli. Hotel is one block from multiple subway lines that will get you into Manhattan in 10 minutes, which is a huge plus.

The staff is courteous and helpful. The location is extremely convenient for trains. The room was clean and roomy. The breakfast was okay but could not accommodate comfortably all the guests.

Hotel was nice and clean, was only there for a night, it was very comfortable and checking in and out was quick. I will use again.

Nothing much to complain about, nor was anything extraordinary. I would recommend.

but needs some work on the details . . . The blackout curtains couldn't close all the way (not enough rod), so the room was flooded with light as soon as the sun rose. - The breakfast room was much too small for the number of people using it (many of whom had to eat standing or return to their rooms, cereal bowl in hand), and the counters were kind of revolting - littered with bits of food badly in need of a good wipe.

Near to the Queensboro metro station ( N,Q,7) that takes you to Manhattan in 5-10minutes. Clean, good staff and is the best price for the location in LIC.
