A good choice to save money but stay close to Manhattan

I came to NYC for two weeks in January and this hotel helped me to save a few thousands bucks on the first two new year nights, but not spend hours travelling to Manhattan. In fact, I would rather stay in Comfort Inn LIC if I had not booked another hotel for the rest of may stay before. The area may not look very friendly, but it's safe and the hotel is really very close to a subway station, just 3 min walk. Hotel breakfast was okay, though there're quite a few tables in the dining area, so you'd better wake up early to get a place or take the food to the room.

Good non-expensive alternative

Clean, comfortably (although a bit noisy). Very close to metro station but not in a good neighborhood. Price is good comparing to other alternatives near Manhattan.

Almost perfect

Staff was very nice. Room very clean. Continental breakfast had a great variety. Comfortable room. The only problem, which really can't be helped, is the size of the room. Very small, but we were able to fit 6 people in a room, but very tightly.

Economically convenient to Manhattan

The staff had our room ready early so we moved in on our arrival in the late morning. The room was small but clean and very attractive; the stone tiled bathroom was perfect. The desk clerk was very helpful planning our trip to Roosevelt Island. The serve-yourself breakfast was an opportunity to greet other guests from around the world or take our meal to our room. One subway stop from Manhattan was the best!

Dining tip: Not Applicable

The Russian Tea Room on 57th Street is right next to Carnegie Hall. It serves both pre- and post-performance dinners as well as a beautiful business express lunch. Don't miss this serene, civilized, warm, historic, delicious, international, artistic New York experience.

Clean, everything at hand

I went there because I had an emergency with a member of my family. I didn"t like the sorroundings but for an emergency is O.K. The room was very clean, nice t.v. set, bathroom perfect and generous breakfast.

The only reason to stay in this hote is its location

The Trip was Very Nice!

The hotel was very nice. The room we stayed in was small but it was very neat and clean. The location was convieniet to the SubStation. You could literally walk 3 mins and your there. There was a nice resturant on the corner that sold breakfast, lunch, and dinner; all three were fanastic. One thing that I didn't like about the hotel was the elevator. There is only one, which means you have to stand there and wait for the elevator to hit all floors if there were someone waiting. The hotel also had a variety of breakfast iteams, but I was expecting the waffles you make yourself. They had store bought. The staff were very nice and room service was right on time with everything. I would stay at the hotel again. But only because of the price the tidiness of the rooms and the short way to the the substation.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Money Savers tip is when going to NYC, especially if it's your first time or your not familiar with the area, please buy a metro 7 day pass card depending on how long your going to be there. That means you can get lost as much as you want to for only $29 and still get everywhere you need to go. You wont have to keep spending $2 everytime you get on the bus or train. Do not spend your money on getting car service or a cab. Take the bus soon as you get to the airport to the substation and by the metro card to go anywhere. My mistake was purchasing shuttle from the airport to our hotel in Long Island City and them not having a shuttle that goes there. Then we paid for car service which was $30 and we looked at the map and saw that there was a train and bus that got straight to the airport. So do your research!
