LaGuardia Airport Hotel

This hotel was okay. Nothing special. They need stronger wi-fi

This hotel is only 2 minutes from LaGuardia. Dated on the outside but clean and fine inside. Excellent breakfast that is included in the price. Free shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes. This is a great place to stay for the business traveler to New York, but a little far from the action for those wanting to see the sights of the city.

My husband and I stayed here just for one night since we arrived into LGA at around 11:30PM. I picked this hotel since our plans were to spend our time in NYC. The location was perfect for early morning departures or late arrivals if you want a place to sleep and shower. There is a Continental breakfast in the morning at the restaurant and free shuttle rides to and from the airport. The only thing I did not like was that our room was missing the comforter and there were no extra blankets in the closet.

My friends and I stayed here for EDCNY this weekend, so we were never really in the hotel. But when we were the lady at the front desk was very helpful. The room was nothing special, but we did not expect much. Overall it suited our minimal needs but that's about it.

The hotel seems to cater to nothing special.at best you would look at the hotel as nothing special, OK for one night but not more.

Pros: Right next to Laguardia Airport. Free shuttle to and from the airport. Free buffet breakfast with many options, including fresh fruit. Cons: Lots of noise from the highway and somewhat unknowledgable staff. Limited food options at the hotel in the evening. Tip: Go to the airport and catch a yellow cab, rather than taking one of the "taxi"s that the hotel will call for you; that will save you a lot of money.

This hotel is old and dirty. Don't pay this for this hotel.

One of the staff was mean. Restaurant staff, shuttle bus driver was very kind. One young woman in front of the staff attitude was poor. Although I signed up for the shuttle bus, she was ignored. Although I am not good at English, to say something in twisters, she silently ignored. My journey has become boring because of this staff. Overall, it was a lot of fun. However, because of this staff, I have an awful time. She outraged the feelings of the traveler. She is required for employee training.

This place is in a not so great end of town, but that's not why I leave this review. The internet is so miserably slow I just gave up. Gmail wouldn't even loan. Facebook would load halfway then stop. The air conditioning was a complete joke. 2-3 am I would wake up hot and sweaty with the unit putting out hot air. Since it was winter I just opened the window for my a/c. The continental breakfast was OK, don't expect much. When I asked about the internet being slow, they gave me an outside tech support number to call, which was disconnected. When I called back for more info, they seemed annoyed. Sorry to bother you. The lobby is nicely remodeled, but the rooms are still a throwback to the age of the hotel. It was clean, but nothing to talk about. The clientele of the hotel was iffy. They put me on the 5th floor, which had a bunch of dudes carrying out trashbags of what looks like recycling and others fighting in the hallway. Not even sure what to make of this. In short, the place was cheap, that's it.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and decently clean. There were no signs of bedbugs under the mattress although I kept my luggage off the carpeting to be sure. The free boarding pass printing and free airport shuttle every half hour were nice, and the shuttle was exactly on time. The shuttle is very busy early in the morning so be sure to wait in the lobby 20-30 minutes ahead of time. The complementary buffet breakfast is pretty bare bones: cereal, white toast, oatmeal, some fruit, coffee, and juice, but it's enough to fill you up. Overall this is a decent and affordable place to stay if you've got an early flight out of La Guardia.
