Motel 6

First the good - courteous staff and great hot tub, good towels Negative show stoppers - The problem with the room is not the decor - they are Motel 6 standard at $220 per night! Also got stuck in a smoking room and the smell was so strong that we could not sleep. There were ashtrays and matches everywhere - looks like the hotel encourages smoking in the room

Bad! Horrible!

I booked this hotel for 6 people but the room was super small for 6 people, it barely fits only 4. Its only 2 queen beds in a small room. I requested to have a room for disabled person bc my aunt cant walk! But I saw normal people stayed in the room we requested. Receptionist is not very nice. Dont come and stay here if you have other choices.

Not worth it for the price

My wife and I stayed here for our Anniversary. The hotel/Casino has two restaurants and is located within walking distance of the main casino district of South lake Tahoe. Those are the positives. The negatives are: The rooms are very old and dated our rooms door would not close from outside the room unless it was slammed. The bed cover on our bed was very worn and dirty looking. The A/C had no working thermostat so you either had to have it humming all night or turn if off and suffer the heat. No mini fridge in the room and no internet of any kind. The service at the restaurant (Timber something?) was slow and the food was sub par for the price. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Our room rate average for the 2 day stay was $119 by I am sure it varies.

Not a bad place to stay

Stayed one night during the Labor Day weekend. Found the room was cheaper than the big hotels just a half mile away. The rooms are a bit outdated but clean. The beds were comfortable and the stay was pleasant. I have to say I was a bit impressed with the food at the onsite restaurant. The food was good and the prices were fair. There was no fee for parking in comparison to the $30 parking charge down the street. Overall, I think I would stay again

NICE HOTEL

WE HAD A GREAT ROOM. THE POOL WAS RIGHT OUSIDE THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR. THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND NICE. I DO HAVE TWO COMPLAINTS. THE ROOM WAS A NON-SMOKING ROOM, BUT IT DID HAVE A HINT OF BEING A SMOKING ROOM AT ONE TIME. ALSO THE GATE OUTSIDE OUR ROOM THAT GOES OVER TO THE CASINO HAD A SQUEEK. I LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. OTHER THAN THAT, WE WOULD STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

Lakeside Inn and Casino

Very comfortable, good food, dinner was a little pricy. It has a friendly bar 2 good beers on tap Sam Adams and Gunnies. It was a little far to walk to the other casinos and shopping. Overall I would stay there again.

Better than Average.

Older building (?1970s -80s style), but clean, comfortable and pet-friendly. Heater did not work (snowing outside), but a call to the front desk resulted in a service person coming promptly (within 5 to 10 minutes) to fix the heater. Staff were courteous and efficient. Had gone for business, but would also recommend this for a family ski vacation.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

On Highway 50, with many stores, restaurants and for those interested, ski-rentals and casinos within a couple of miles of the hotel. Snow requires chains or 4x4 with AT or snow tires to pass over the mountains coming from Sacramento or Reno. Crews at roadside will attach chains for $30 on and off refund $20 if returning after snow has melted and roads not icy any more. Good for occasional visitors driving RWD vehicles.

Nice cozy little place

If you're looking for all the bells and whistles of a big hotel/casino without the big, this is your place. Cozy, clean rooms with a cabin feel. Small casino and a couple of restaurants.
