Nice Hotel

The hotel was clean and nice but upon checkout I was charged a $5.00 per night per room fee. I did not read their newspaper nor drink their bottle water and will not stay there again because of this.

Pretty good value

The Horizon Hotel itself was sort of dated and somewhat lacking in curb appeal maintenance. However, the cost to stay there was a great bargin in comparison to the other Casino's. The room we stayed in was clean - We didn't spend much time in the room, just to sleep and clean up. We requested a room away from the elevator, and it seemed quiet the nights we were there The hotel staff was very nice, check in and check out were very easy. We needed a rollaway bed and were delivered one promptly, and there was not an extra charge for the use of it. The resturants were fine too, although the service was a bit slow at times. There are so many resturants in the area we utilized other spots more often. Starbucks off the lobby was great first thing in the morning. The kids arcade and the 8 plex movie theater were a nice time filler, and also very clean and convienent.

Close to Everything

The Horizon is in the midst of downtown: walking distance to casinos, shopping, restaurants and golf. Recommended for an overnight stay or weekend.

Convenient

This hotel offered a shuttle service to a lot of the ski lifts around the area. Very convenient to walk out the door and onto a shuttle. The hotel is also located in the heart of the casino area and makes it convenient to go from casino to casino.

stiff as a board!

overall the stay was pleasant, BUT... the bed was terrible.? there was actually a piece of plywood placed between the matresses.? What an awful nights sleep and clearly longtime defered maintanance and upkeep of the beds/room.? Nice that there was a huge parking garage that was free of charge.? We complained about the bed to the manager and got a free nights stay to use in the future..hopefully the beds are fixed by then!

Great Location

Horizon Hotel and Casino in South Lake Tahoe, was an excellant location in proximity to the other casino's and the Heavenly ski lift. In addition the parking was very convienantly located to hotel. I found the room to be a little over priced. The condidtion of the room, were less then satisfactory. It was very dingy and stuffy, and the hallway carpets looked dirty. I probably would not stay there again.

Vacation

The Horizon Hotel with nice because of all the amenities the hotel offered. We took advantage of almost every one. The starbucks kiosk, theater, etc. We were satisfied but the only few things that we were unhappy with was the heater did not work in our room, the room service was too much for the amount of food we received and the rent c op in the parking garage was very rude to us. Other than that we would have had the best time!
