Fun Getaway
The staff was friendly and most attentive. The food at the in house restaurant ( The Copa) was very good.

Good value for money
The hotel was a nice place to stay. You could tell it was an older hotel, but everything was neat and clean.

Basic Needs Served
This is an older hotel that's been reasonably well maintained. The rooms are very large, much bigger than newer properties, and the baths are also large. The bed and room furnishings are nice, clean and well maintained. No flat screens however so if watching tv in your room is what you want this is not for you. the lobby is extremely tacky and the smell of smoke permeates-just as it does in every casino. Just a block from downtown and threes blocks from the river walk. It's a great weekday value.

Short walk from hotel
The River Grill. Outside or inside dining and cocktails. Shaded with a greata view of the truckee river and downtown. Not inexpensive but very nice. Also, the outside lounge at the Siena Hotal that is right on the river. A very nice place inthe late afternoon and early evening.

this has been the 5th time I have stayed at the Sands. and why I will ne back next year again. I have never had a problem and the staff goes out of their way to make it a pleasure to stay there. from the shuttle drivers and casino personal to Mels diner to the buffets and staff. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to next years trip. hope it stays as good. My highest compliments to you all. Mr. and Mrs. Zamarripa Sr

Clean Machine
Good getaway
It took them about 10 minutes to find our reservation even tho we had our printed copy. After that everything was fine. Have stayed here several times and it has been fine.

Bowling open championship
The hotel had an odor that wasn't pleasant, there wasn't any amenities in the room, no coffee, the fan inside the bathroom wasnt working, the room was cleaned but was not vacuum very well & the staff was courteous.

Great for the Price
We only stayed one night but it was a great room for a great price. They do try to get you with the casino because you have to walk around every slot machine in the place to get to the hotel part.
