Las Vegas has many themed casinos, but the Venetian Resort Hotel succeeds in transporting visitors to fanciful recreations of the Italian canals in Venice. Whether you are taking a ride on a gondola, enjoying live statues in Saint Mark's Square or pressing your luck in the glittering casino, time flies through opulent surroundings. Cool off from the desert heat by plopping into one of six pools before taking in one or two of the Venetian's long-featured star attractions, like comedienne Rita Rudner or the feel-good musical Rock of Ages. Health-conscious guests can schedule an appointment with one of the physical therapists, nutritionists or acupuncturists in the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
Key facts

Neighborhood
The Venetian Resort's post-modern playground has replaced the old Sands Hotel, and it stands between Harrah's and The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip. The Fashion Show mall, which includes Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, is also within walking distance. Golfers need only cross Sands Avenue to reach the impressive Wynn Golf Club, which business guests will also find handy to escape to after a session at the nearby Las Vegas Convention Center.
Hints and tips
When you've finished an early dip in the pool, towel off and head over for a gourmet pancake breakfast at Wolfgang Puck's casual restaurant Riva -exclusive to guests of the hotel. During the day, while passing through Saint Mark's Square near the Grand Canal Shoppes, guests arriving at the top of the hour will get to witness regular opera and theater performances, with costumes inspired by Italian masquerade.

bachelor party trip

Went for a group trip, staying the Venetian. The room was good sized, did not like the shower / toilet, would've preferred if they were separated or if the door locked to the bathroom. The internet was horribly weak. Other than that, Venetian had more or less everything covered amenities wise, one of the better options among the slightly bigger chains while staying within a budget.

Pricey but luxurious

The Venetian had all the amenities, excellent dining, and many local hot spots (clubs, pools, etc).

Very good hotel

The hotel is very beautiful. It's pretty quiet hotel than other hotels like Wyn or cosmopolitan. Pros are the bed is really comfortable. The casino is nice and clean. Room service is fast. The cons are the door in every suite is hevey so you will hear the noise every time when other suites close the door. And no check out late.

If you have to choose one buffet, i would recommend the Buffet at Wyn. Don't go at cosmopolitan. There is expensive, tasteless and no variety of food.

No amenities in the room

The suite was large and beautiful but had no coffee maker and we were informed at the desk that the refrigerator ( minibar) was" not for personal use" so you could not even put a bottle of water to cool. Room service coffee was $13.00 plus $5.00 delivery fee and 18% service tax. Downstairs at the coffee bar $4.00 for a cup of coffee. This is a small service that is provided at the most modest hotels so this was disappointing. The bathroom was large and beautiful with an enclosed shower and large bath tub. Generally, this is a beautiful resort, though dated, and things go wrong - keys do not always work, plumbing needs repair, etc. However, service is excellent and engineering will show up promptly and fix problems. We loved the spa - worth visiting- and the shops.

Any Cirque du Soleil performance is worth going to. Ear plugs and good walking shoes recommended, unless taxis are used.
