Bliss in the Middle of Chaos

This hotel is beautiful, quiet, and clean. No casino, no cigarette smoke, zero noise (security closely monitors who get on the elevators). It's right off the Strip (view from the rooms shows all the lights) but it's like a little zen place. The bar has amazing mixologists -- young guys who really enjoy relating to the customers.

Week long trip

Vdara is a smoke free, gamble free environment in the center of the Vegas strip. It was nice to come back to a clean secure environment after being in so many smokey Casinos. We literally went into every hotel in Vegas over our 7 days there and the Vdara was top notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and there was 24 hr security to ensure no non-guests made it to the room floors. There wasn't a restaurant and the only little market to get food was closed by 9pm every night, so if you want a late night snack you'll have to get it somewhere else. But the Vdara was connected to the Aria and the Bellagio and you get a 30% hotel discount on shows at the those hotels!

Entertainment tip: Not Applicable

Viva Elvis by Cirque du Soliel was AMAZING and it's in the Aria so it's right next door to the Vdara! Vegas the Show was a close second in good entertainment, located across the street fromt the Vdara at Planet Hollywood. KA was not worth the money for a Cirque du Soliel show we were very let down on the incredible lack of acrobatics. If you go see The Legends - do not get tickets at the little 6 seater tables. It's a coffee table with 6 chairs crammed around it. Get a circle booth or any other seat really - the theaters were all really small (except KA). Peepshow was a terrible topless revue. Kinda pointless to have a topless revue with girls who have less than a A cup and can't dance. I would recommend Love at the Bellagio (a Beatles show) and Viva Elvis!

Ideal way to see Las Vegas

We were there for a high school age volleyball tournament. There is no better way to be in Las Vegas, when travelling with children, than to be in the middle of the strip but away from the noise and sensory overload of a typical casino hotel. The facility was beautiful and the peace and quiet provided by the Vdara was very welcome after a long day surrounded by thousands of teenagers.

Nice, nice, very nice

Great experience except for the long line to get coffee in the morning. Why aren't all the rooms equipped with coffee pots? It would also help to get detailed instructions on how to find the entrance to the place. What a convoluted way to get there! It is also difficult to walk from one place to another in City Center without going up stairs and over bridges. The tram is helpful, but should include more stops.

Best buys are in the mall by the airport.

Great hotel, be prepared for some quirks.

I would definitely stay at Vdara again. That said, there were some strange things for a very upscale hotel. There was no coffee in the room and to get coffee you had to wait in a long line with all the folks trying to get full breakfast. Some of my fellow travelers would not stay here again for that reason alone. Also, the pool was closed but no one told us about that at the time we booked (it wasn't noted on their website) and no one mentioned that at check-in. You could go to the pool at the Aria, but we didn't try. Upsides: fabulous rooms, great views, nice staff, great spa and gym.

Smoke free and Gambling Free

The hotel is smoke free and does not have any gambling. You can still gamble at Aria which is a short walk away. It was nice to be able to escape the smoke and gambling.
