Stunning remake with the unique Mob Attraction
If you have never seen the Tropicana, it's time to witness the dramatic $180 million USD transformation of this legendary Vegas landmark. From front to back, the "Trop" is renovating for the modern era. Gone are the Fantasy Island motifs, since replaced by energetic inspirations from mid-century Havana and modern Miami. With changes in every room, suite and the casino, plus countless new restaurants and bars, a new poker room and amazing new Mob Attraction, guests at the Tropicana won't ever want to leave.
Highlights

  • Vibrant South-Beach inspired renovations throughout the Tropicana's rooms, casino, pool, restaurants and more
  • First-class entertainment includes Laugh Factory Las Vegas, Mob Attraction Las Vegas, Dancing with the Stars: Live In Las Vegas (Seasonal)  and more
  • The Museum at the Las Vegas Mob Attraction, showcasing 1,000 mob artifacts and memorabilia
  • Award-winning Las Vegas tropical pool that has expansive deck with lush landscaping, waterfalls and private lounge spots and featuring Coconut Grove Bar
Rooms

Tropicana Las Vegas has completed an impressive update of their rooms while reviving the property's original Havana spirit, with warm orange and beige tones trimmed with white. Some original decor remains (ceiling accents, shower tiling), but substantial improvements and now standard amenities in all rooms include plantation shutters, a big daybed or chaise, firm Euro-Top Serta mattresses, iHome docking stations, 42" plasma HDTVs and 300-thread count linens. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room with Strip views, the Paradise Suite with a spacious two-room floor plan, or the two-story Penthouse Loft.

Features

From stand-up comics and revolving headlining performers like Recycled Percussion in the Tropicana Theater to live DJs and bands in the 4,000-square-foot Ambhar Lounge and the interactive Las Vegas Mob Museum, guests at Tropicana Las Vegas will want to do it all. Head to the redesigned casino and play in the poker room, race and sports book, or any number of slots and game tables. Glow A Mandara Spa, fitness center, salon and barber shop, and select retail are also on property/ Weddings at the Tropicana are performed in an island chapel and outdoor gazebo. Free self- and valet parking are also available.

Dining
"Restaurant choices at Tropicana Las Vegas include the bright Biscayne steakhouse with creative appetizers and wine selections, Bacio Bacio by Carla Pellegrino and Beach Cafe that blends creative cuisine and beach club lifestyle. Breakfast is available at the 24-hour, counter-order South Beach Marketplace which include Pellegrino Pizza & Deli, Starbucks and the Naked Spoon. Tropicana Las Vegas

The rooms were large and clean, the beds comfy. The service was great. The casino was nice, not real big but had everything I wanted. I did not eat at the hotel so I can't comment on that. There is a Starbucks which I did go to and had great service. The pool is awesome. Very nice place to stay.

Better than I expected

I ended up booking this hotel really late in the game and came to my decision because it was the cheapest/best deal at the time. I wasn't really expecting much out of it because I have heard from others that this wasn't the greatest hotel but when I arrived, I was really surprised! We got to the hotel really early, like 5 hours before check-in. We thought we would be charged extra but nope - they didn't even bring it up. The lady at the front desk was very nice and informative as well. After the almost mile long walk to the room elevators we went up to the 16th floor and entered our room. The room was very clean and spacious. Everything was modern and it was nicely decorated. Again, I was expecting pretty low quality because of what I had heard but I was pleasantly surprised! I would definitely stay here again if it came down to it, as long as the prices don't go up. Two thumbs up!

Vacation

Service stopped once you checked in. After checking in we first discovered there are NO coffee pots in the rooms, however you can rent one for $10.00 per day. Theirs nothing more uncomfortable than having to feel & probably look your worst while taking an elevator to the casino floor to buy a $3.50 cent first coffee of the day. Every morning the elevators were always full of upset , disheveled and angry grumpy guests. After a day of walking the streets we returned to the room only to find nothing was cleaned. We wanted to rest up & get comfortable but couldn't because we didn't know if or when the cleaning when the cleaning people were coming in to clean. We finally realized unless you call for towels or a vacuum cleaner or a washed bathroom floor your out of luck. We had one wash cloth for two days. When I called I was told "we have 1800 rooms and must clean the check outs first." This sentiment was reaffirmed by cleaning people when they finally showed up. IF you forgot something stay out of the hotel shops as everything is much too expensive. Any family with kids should look elsewhere for their stay. We first stayed at the same hotel in Atlantic City and had a super stay. I learned the too late this hotel is no longer associated with AC and it shows with service. I thought O*bit checked these places out ...

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

This hotel is south of most casinos. Nearby casinos seem to be a short walk are NOT short walks. If you want reasonable priced food don't eat at this hotel or for that matter any major casino. Get a three day bus pass $20.00 (The Deuce), go north and get off at the Har*ah area or go further north to the Fre*mont district. Casino slots are more loose and boardwalk close. Great for kids and short walking.

Loved it!

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel. The casino was great and clean and not full like the others right in the middle of the strip. It was right on the beginning of the south of the strip so everything was a walk away :) the pool was amazing! The only bad thing was that there was no free wifi :( but we were always downstairs at the casino so it wasn't that important.

Nice hotel with great location

I hadn't stayed at the Tropicana for over 20 years but I was pleased to see that it had been renovated. It was clean, service was good and the beds were comfortable. I was there for a 30th wedding anniversary and the staff accomodated our group by placing us all on the same floor with one adjoining room. The casino is small but bright and virtually smoke-free. All in all, a nice experience.

The Tropicana is across the street from many hotels (MGM, New York, Excalibur) and within driving distance of a great outlet mall.
