Stunning remake with first-class entertainment and tropical pool
If you have never seen the Tropicana, it's time to witness the dramatic $200 million USD transformation of this legendary Vegas landmark. From front to back, the "Trop" is renovating for the modern era. Gone are the Fantasy Island motifs, since replaced by energetic inspirations from mid-century Havana and modern Miami. With changes in every room, suite and the casino, plus countless new restaurants and bars, guests at the Tropicana won't ever want to leave.
Highlights

  • Vibrant South-Beach inspired renovations throughout the Tropicana's rooms, casino, pool, restaurants and more
  • First-class entertainment includes Laugh Factory Las Vegas and starting May 2014
  • Award-winning Las Vegas tropical pool that has expansive deck with lush landscaping, waterfalls and private lounge spots and featuring Coconut Grove Bar
Rooms

Tropicana Las Vegas has completed an impressive update of their rooms while reviving the property's original Havana spirit, with warm orange and beige tones trimmed with white. Some original decor remains (ceiling accents, shower tiling), but substantial improvements and now standard amenities in all rooms include plantation shutters, firm Euro-Top Serta mattresses, iHome docking stations, 42" plasma HDTVs and 300-thread count linens. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room with Strip views, Bungalows with a pool view, the Paradise Suite with a spacious two-room floor plan, a two-story Penthouse Loft, or the luxurious Pool Villa or Sky Villas.

Features

From stand-up comics and revolving headlining performers to live DJs and bands in the 4,000-square-foot Tropicana Lounge, guests at Tropicana Las Vegas will want to do it all. Head to the redesigned casino and play, race and sports book, or any number of slots and game tables. Glow A Mandara Spa, fitness center, salon and barber shop, and select retail are also on property/ Weddings at the Tropicana are performed in an island chapel and outdoor gazebo. Free self- and valet parking are also available.

Dining
Restaurant choices at Tropicana Las Vegas include the bright Biscayne steakhouse with creative appetizers and wine selections, Bacio Italian Cuisine and Beach Cafe that blends creative cuisine and beach club lifestyle. Diners can also enjoy treats at South Beach Marketplace which include Starbucks. Unwind with live music and signature cocktails at Tropicana Lounge in the main casino area.

wouldn't stay again

The hotel messed up my reservation and put me up in their delux suite which was nice however I did have to switch rooms the next day so having to re-pack everything and wait quite awhile for the bell hop to come move me....however I did not have to pay for coffee for my stay which I appreciated. I also did not care for the layout of the hotel. If you were in the far tower, you have to walk quite a ways to get to your room or to leave the hotel.

Perfect Vegas Trip!

Lovely stay at the Tropicana, Las Vegas. The Hotel is perfectly located on the Las Vegas Strip, across the street from the Excalibur. Free parking! Very clean (the bathrooms too)! Friendly, helpful staff. Nice Pool! I would definitely stay at the Tropicana on my next visit.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Tournament of Kings, Dinner and show at the Excalibur is very entertaining! Bubba Gumps on the strip is great food (come prepared for a trivia quiz about the movie)! Too many other things to do!! Take advantage of the speedway race track and drive a race car around the track!!!

Nice rooms but needs more food options

The rooms were very nice and kept nice and clean during out stay. The hotel is in a nice location at the south end of the strip with walkways to Excalibur and MGM Grand right outside the door. The hotels does need more food options available in the hotel, breakfast was limited to the cafe, Starbucks or the food court none of which were that great and very expensive. We chose to find meals at the other nearby hotels that offered more options in their food courts. The casino part of the hotel was nice not extremely busy and did not reek of smoke like some of the others we visited. Overall if you are looking for a nice place to stay and are only focused on the rooms I would recommend this hotel but if you are looking for an all in one you might want to look at some of the other nearby properties.

Excellant Stay

We were there for a Convention at the Mandalay so the Tropicana was our closest choice. Perfect location for our needs, with many other Casino next door. We stayed in a Bungalow which is in the Hotel. Check in was speedy and flawless. Everything was so clean and shiny. Did not smell of smoke. Room was very clean and housekeeping was almost perfect. The only issue I had was there were no refrigerators, microwave or coffee pot in the rooms. There should be, not good Trop. Food court food wasn't that good. Didn't eat in restaurant or café. So overall it was great and we would stay there again.

Pretty good stay

Got a great rate here for pride weekend. Had an issue with the housekeeping not ready by 5pm but they compensated us for that. If we get another great deal we will be back.

We had a Gay old time

Hotel room was great, however we quickly realized we booked during Gay & Lesbian appreciation week at the Tropicana. I am as open minded as the next guy, but how many dudes (I think) wearing teenage girls short shorts and tank tops can you take? The answer is about the 20 I saw walking by the pool............ thank god there were plenty of other places to go that weren't pandering so we frequented them and slept in the Tropicana. I can't vouch for the restaurant or the casino other than walking through it to get to the room. I would recommend it otherwise, and would definitely recommend calling ahead as the front desk said this is a regular thing they do to attract business.

Awesome place

Tropicana was nice when it comes to cleanliness, room design, pools, strip access, casinos etc.,. Except for poker room, casino has everything. They even gave us $75 hotel credit for food and drinks. Staff were not that friendly and receptionist did some blunders like charging resort fees for 8 days even though we stayed for 6 nights. It was worth the money staying here. I would return to trop again if in vegas.
