Dealertainers, divas and luaus define this worldly center-Strip classic
Like a favorite uncle, The Quad Resort & Casino Located next to Flamingo is a reliable presence at the center of the Las Vegas Strip. With a slightly kitschy tribute to ancient Japan, The Quad Resort & Casino offers a variety of entertainment, amenities and dining in a relatively compact space. More entertainment includes Frank Marino's cross-dressing Divas, the acrobats of Japan's Matsuri and the world-class Auto Collections. Please be advised that this hotel will be under major renovations starting immediately and the projected completion date is sometime in late 2013. Effective immediately, vehicular access to The Quad from The Strip is permanently closed and all traffic must enter the property via the back entrance. Time for an upgrade
The staff was extremely warm, friendly and accommodating. However, the Hotel itself is getting run down. It is dark and dreary, the carpeting and fixtures are growing shabby. This is bad enough. But upon checking into the room we found that it had not been adequately cleaned - remnants of the previous guests were everywhere.

Not what you expect
The Imperial Palace in Vegas was not as we expected. The rooms were so small two people could not walk between the bed and the TV. When we arrived to check in we were told that we wouldn't be able to check in until sometime between 4-6pm, but if we paid and additional $20.00 per night we could check in right away. The room had a window that could not be opened or it would fall right out of the track. The room had a nice view of the pool but the solid stone balcony was so high you had to be six foot to see it. The rooms are not easy to get to. TO get to ours we had to take an escalator to the main floor, walk a short distance and take another to the second floor then walk to the other end of the hotel and take the elevator to the 12th floor. It did have a couple of good restaurants. One was a buffet that offered a wide variety of items.

Good location on The Strip
When were put into a room on the first floor that faced either the inside of the parking ramp, or under the hotel itself. The room smelled like sour milk, it was digusting. We did switch over to a different room the other night that was on the 4th floor and overlooked the pool. This was a much nicer room and we should have never been given the first room. Also, this hotel was extremely confusing to get around in, everyone we met couldn't remember how to get to their room because they were all numbered very strangely.

Not very guest friendly
The Imperial Palace was a big disappointment because the room carpets did not seem fresh like it has not been vaccumed. In addition, the beds were not comfortable because it felt like I was sleeping on a rock, there was no coffee pot or even a bar for refreshments. I would not care if I had to pay for it because there was not that many selection of resturants to choose from and the service stunk because the waitress did not serve us with a smile and just slammed the drink down near my cousin from Okinawa, Japan who came to visit us for this. I thought that was rude and showed how some people treat people from other countries rudely, not good on our behalf.

You get what you pay for!
We wanted to stay cheap and that's what we got. The elevators were extremely slow! Check in took about an hour. The decor is old and nothing special. Definitely needs an update. The buffet was poor. Once the breakfast buffet ran out of an item it wasn't replaced, so get there early. The only really good thing going for it is price and location.

Elevator Smells of Puke
The elevators smelled like puke on the way up. Also in the hallways there was food someone had not finished from roomservice that sat in the hall for 2 days while we were there. It was always a mystery to see where the chunk of bread would be laying the next time we walked past. It was pretty comical after a while. The food in the resteraunt was decent enough and the location was great.

Would never stay there again
The Imperial Palace was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Our room had a weird smell to it, the carpet was old and stained, one of the lamps did not work and the bath tub faucet would not turn all the way off. It was not very clean and I would never stay there again.
