Great price, kinda far
The Stratosphere turned out to be a nice hotel. We stayed in one of the Select rooms, which is what I would recommend for anyone planning to visit. The room could've been cleaner upon arrival, but it definitely wasn't disgusting or unbearable. If I came across another deal like the one I received I would stay there again. Otherwise, I would prefer to be closer to the action, but that's just me.

Be sure to purchase a bus pass for the Deuce. Since the Stratosphere is away from the action, it was the best way to get up and down the strip without having to walk forever (especially at night) or run up a pretty high taxi bill. It runs 24 hours and stops right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient.

I paid $20 extra for a remodeled room. It was nice a room friendly staff. I do like my rooms being super clean. Like the bathroom tub, could have been cleaner had dirt or soap scum. Overall good experience!

NEEDS THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING!
Problems with room. Thin walls, could here man in adjacent room urinating in bathroom. Our bathroom on the 15th floor north side problems with door, had to push hard to close it, double toilet paper roller broken, with the bath tub on a built up platform making it much to high to get in to shower. It would be impossible for handicap individual. The adjacent room door kept shuttering is if someone was trying to get in from that side. upon check out at the registration desk, was not asked whether we had a good stay or not. Would not recommend to my friends!

Not great rooms and too far from strip.
My room was poorly insulated, and you could hear people around you. Sometimes I even heard voices of the people below me through the vent. I got the room for $30 a night, so I guess I shouldn't complain that much. I'd even expect this kind of thing staying at an average hotel anywhere else, but considering all the competing hotels just south of here, there are much better options. The casino and shops weren't anything special either. Most other casinos I walked through felt cooler, and had more interesting shops and restaurants. It's also quite a walk to the main Vegas strip. On a positive note though, the Tower was very cool, and I would recommended going up to the bar, even if you are staying somewhere else.

Decent deal
Room service was tediously slow. We asked for extra blankets, pillows and towels. Only got a blanket and 2 hours after we requested them. Room was great but no free wifi? For such a popular hotel, I'd assume we'd get that included instead of having it be 11.99 for 24 hours. Even the tiny hotel chains offer free wifi.. come on, Stratosphere. Overall, cleanliness and comfort won out. Probably will stay here in the future.

The staff was very friendly especially the men in valet.. They remembered my name every time and were very friendly. It made us feel very special especially since SOO many people come and go through the valet..

1st Trip to Vegas
The hotel and casino was clean and comfortable. I definately feel that I received a great value for my dollar. It is far down the strip from everything else and the dining was less than enjoyable but other than that it is a great place to stay and play

spend a little extra some where else
This hotel is so so at best. The parking ramp was filthy and needed a good cleaning. The elevators in the ramps were not even that good. We got checked in after a hour wait and went up to our rooms to drop off our stuff. The room sucked. Small with a view of a wall. Went down and complained, the staff person said"what did you expect at the Orbtz rate? We got one room up graded to a better room but that is all they would do. If you want to do anything on the strip, you will walk a couple miles or a 20 dollar taxi ride. If you want to ride the tram, it is 2 blocks and cost 22 bucks a day. If you got a room futher down the strip, it will cost 40 or more a night, but it is so worth it.
