Business Stay

This was my first stay at the Stratosphere since the recent renovation. It was clear that they gave it a real nice facelift from the moment I walked in. The was a long line at check in but the line moved very quickly and check-in was easy. Stayed on the 6th floor in the newly renovated room. Very pleased with accommodations. Some people complain that it is not right on the strip in the middle of the action, but if you have business at the convention center it is real close- which is nice. New restaurants are nice - entertained clients two nights at the Heartland Grill - very good steak house and reasonable pricing. EXCELLENT VALUE - I would definitely stay there again!

Over night lay over

I paid extra for the upgraded room. Upon my early arrival I was offered an upgrade to a suite for $20.00. I went to the "suite" and it was not a "suite". I immediately called the front desk and was told that I was in an upgraded room because it had been recently remodeled and had a safe! I was directed to go back to the clerk , He explained that the room I had ordered was only a "5" and he had put us in an "8". He refunded the $20 and we stayed in the same room which had no microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, or even a TV guide.

Only in Vegas

In the more shady area of the strip (where the Stratosphere is), you'll encounter more characters than you'd hope to lingering outside the hotel. What I wasn't expecting was the number of characters inside the hotel that were doing things normally reserved for the bedroom on the concrete of the parking garage. Had staff of the hotel been alerted, I imagine that the situation would not have gone any differently, as I would expect the same level of apathy as they exhibited during the check-in process.

On average ...

The hotel is far away the center of fun, and that takes away a lot of points! Clean rooms and good service.

Quick Stay

Plenty of parking. Check-in is similar to other Vagas casinos in that unless you are a special club member you get to stand in line for several minutes. Our room had a good view and was exactly as advertised. It was quiet and everything worked. One benefit of staying on property was being able to go up into the tower and enjoy the evening lights of the strip. There were plenty of choices for on-site eating and we ate in the tower and had a nice meal. Checkout was easy and the overall experience was value for money paid. Keep in mind that it is a bit of walk to the other hotels.

Decent enough for Vegas Veterans

I like the hotel, I really do, but it's so far away from everything. Sure, it's a quick cab ride, but $18 from Stratosphere to the middle of the strip. And at night, I didn't feel comfortable walking to the strip from the hotel. The beds leave something to be desired. Woke up several mornings, with a sore back (not just from walking, as first night back in my own bed, I was fine). Outside of those two small gripes, the hotel works well, especially for the price!

Vegas baby

Check in took way to long. There was a line at least 30 guests deep. Staff knocked once and walked into my room in the morning to clean while I was still in bed. I should of put the do not disturb sign upbut didn't think about it. The woman was polite and excused herself.

Great value

We were able to get two connecting rooms for less than one room at other hotels. Very clean and for the most part, very friendly staff. The only downside was the location. It was pretty far from the rest of the strip and you had to walk through some pretty shady areas to get there. We also had a bit of conflict with one of the people at the front desk trying to get a connecting room. They put us in a non-connecting room even though we had requested one and they said they would be able to. When we got to our room and saw they weren't connecting, the lady at the front desk said there was nothing they could do and to check tomorrow. After a little bit of a heated discussion, they got us a connecting room.
