winner at riveria.

Overall a good experience at hotel. Had some trouble with checkout as the computers were down. Staff acted as if they could not help with anything. Instead they might have troed to solve problems for the guests. Beds in room were clean and the most comfortable i have ever had at any hotel. Casino was a little boring and didnt realy have any good promotions. Id suggest only going to the rivera if you dont care about location and dont need to eat at the place you are staying. would recomend the wynn for more flash and the show Le Reve is out of this world.

worth the price

not a bad price for our stay but if you are going to stay there make sure you stay on the remodeled side of hotel it is alot nicer and more modern with flat screen tv.if you want and like the busy rush then this is not the place for you,but if you don't mind the walk this is not a bad location.

Vegas Spring 2010

While it was clean and adequate, it was very easy to see that the Riviera is a "classic" Vegas hotel. It definitely lacks the glitz and luster of the new mega-hotels, kind of reminded me of a Comfort Inn or something similar. The staff was friendly enough and they did not bother us when we had the "do not disturb" sign on our room door, a big plus to me since I don't like maid service during my stay unless I request it. The location is at the north end of the strip so be prepared for a hike to the "hot spots" in the center strip. All in all, not bad for the price.

Nice Place...

My overall experience at the Riviera was great, I have no complaints. For the price, it's a great place to stay just get out your walking shoes because it's basically at the end of the strip :o)

Inexpensive getaway

As mentioned, the Riviera is more than fifty years old. Some aspects of the hotel were dated and worn. The hallways and even our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The AC didn't cool the room sufficiently, especially during the heat of day. We were very happy with the large size of the room. It was a handicap accessable room with a handicap shower and a separate bathroom with a full tub. The housekeeping was a disappointment though. They offer a refresh service which includes wiping any wet areas but no chemicals are used. There was soap scum that remained on the sink for several days and the trash cans were not emptied. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The bell staff is very quick to get your luggage to and from the room. The free valet parking was very convenient and the valets were very helpful in assisting with loading my father's wheelchair. Overall, the Riviera is a good value for the price. This is especially true for the budget minded traveler.

Riviera good spot for the budget seekers

I attended the Riviera to see some friends who i haven't seen in 12 years. One of them was getting married so we decided to have the bachelor party in Vegas. I was pleasantly surprised by the Riviera. From the outside it isn't very pretty. The parking garage has shoe prints all over the elevator doors. And the casino floor reeked of cigarette smoke. The people at the check in counter were nice. My room was great very big and spacious. The bed was the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in. My only real problem was how thin the walls are. and the location. It's cool if you wanted to be close to the Wynn or Encore hotel. But the Riviera is a part of old Vegas. So if you wanted to be by the MGM grand, New York New York, or Bellagio. You got a bit of walking to do. I only stayed there for 2 days. So i feel like i got more than moneys worth at the Riviera just based off the size of my room. It was like i got two rooms for the price of one.

Nice Pool

Check in was easy. Room was musty and air conditioner and phone didnt work. I called downstairs and they had it fixed within 6 hours. On check out beware, they charge for use of the safe unless you tell them that you didnt use it. Dining options are very limited. and the cafe is always filthy and overpriced.
