Last minute

Was the only reasonably priced hotel available for a last minute vacation. Very old hotel. Took an extra half hour at check-in saying they couldnt find the reservaton. Room inside was much cleaner than outside. Decent value.

Basketball Tournament

We needed to stay near the convention center. This is why it was a prefect location. We didn't really use the amenities. For a one night stay it was great. One complaint, they only had smoking rooms available when we got there. We had to get an upgrade and pay for it.

Check in trouble

We checked in around 8:00 pm on Saturday night. Clerk issued us keys to a room that was occupied. We walked in and realized that it was full of luggage, etc... Very creepy feeling. Desk clerk had zero empathy and blamed it on the guests sneaking back in. Poor answer and horrible feeling regarding our own safety and security. It was late, we stayed one night. Never again.

Riviera Hotel Stay

In the past when we have stayed in Las Vegas it was in the "front" end and the newer hotels. I was very surprised by our stay at the Riveria. The rooms were nice, the value excellent and it was neat looking at the photographs of stars that have entertained there over the years. Lots of history. The casino is a little dated where it doesn't have the lights and glitter of the newer casinos but I will stay there again.

Horrible!

Horrible experience here. First off when we checked in and went to our room, it was the wrong type that we had requested. We then had to go back to the front desk and switch rooms. Not that big a deal but it gets worse. Our new room was nothing special. That's okay cause we were getting a good rate except there was an old crusty hand towel hanging on the shower rack from the previous occupants. We called and they said they'd send someone up. Nobody came. The next day we woke up to a black bug the size of my thumb in the sink. We called about that an the towel once again and left for the day. When we came back the bug was gone but the towel was still there. Really? I mean the cleaned the rest of the room. Oh and when we returned we realized that the key card reader/ lock didn't even work. You could open the door without putting the card into the reader. Glad we didn't leave anything valuable. We left again after they said they would send someone to fix it. After a long night out we just wanted to get back to our room only to find a note on the door saying we needed to go back to the front desk to get new key cards. Thanks for the heads up! Oh and the crust towel is still on the shower rack. Called again telling then this was the third time and the hotel manager assured us they would send someone to come get it. Needless to say it was there when we checked out two days later. Pay the extra 50 bucks and stay closer to the strip. You'll make that money back in the amount of cab fare it takes to get to and from the hotel. Be warned!
