First Vegas trip
This was my first trip to Vegas. I stayed at New York New York from previous reviews and price. It was average. The location was good simply because I did not have any transportation and didn't want to spend to spend money on a cab. It is located next to MGM which has a monorail to get to some of the other hotels then walk from there. The employees were all nice and the hotel clean. I would would stay there again.

WORST HOTEL IN VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where it asks would I recommend this hotel to a friend, I must say absolutely, positively not. My very first night at the hotel, my father and I went down to the casino and the strip for a few hours starting at about 4 PM. I had brought enough money for me to be able to safely play for our three day trip, and I hid it in a book in my suitcase and placed that book under another book. I told my father out loud only in our room what I was doing in case I forgot where I had put the money. We returned at 10PM tired from the flight and our time in the casinos. The next morning, I went to replenish my money for the day, and I noticed that the books were reversed from what I had last left them. The wrong book was on top, and the money was gone. We searched the room and found no trace of the missing money. It is my opinion that it was an inside job and that some sort of listening device was placed in the room. Security came up to check and verify the report we made, and despite saying that ""these things tend to have a happy ending," nothing was done to either compensate or show that anything was actually being done. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will personally never stay here again. My advice to travelers thinking about his hotel is to enter at your own risk. I only have an opinion of what happened, and based on my story, I will let you decide if you think I am right or wrong. The hotel and casino itself was not bad. The economy room reminds me of a slightly nicer courtyard by marriott, and the casino is about average size with normal games and several five dollar tables during the daytime. It would have been fine to have lost the money in the casino, but the fact that it was stolen out of my room made me spend most of my time elsewhere on the strip.

The hotel was nice. Had a lot of offerings. Even 1cent slot machines! Many places to eat. Some of the ones on New York street should be open later since people are out and about most of the nite. Several different entertainment areas.

Could use a room facelift
Staff was great, except for bartender in casino...he needed to smile and care. Suite was "tired" and in need of a remodel. Hotel across the street has remodeled rooms and saw them...would stay there next time. Restaurants were amazing here...no bad food! Bell staff, Front desk and housekeeping VERY nice!

September Las Vegas Getaway
I Love the New York- New York, i always have a great time there and have stayed there many times. My only gripe is not only do they charge you the convenience fee for items i don't use, now the hotel has an early check-in fee if you want the room before 3 pm. I have never been charged or heard of a fee to check into a room for which i have already paid for and is sitting empty waiting for a guest.

Family wedding
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at New York, New York hotel in Vegas. First time was 2005 for our honeymoon. This time we booked in to for our sons' wedding. The hotel was more or less the same as the first time we stayed, but unfortunatley the rooms are rather shabby and in need of a complete overhall, (we actually had crayon scribbles on wall, a used cotton bud on floor near window and something horrible in our sink)!! We intend going again to Vegas next year but not going to stay at New York New York, a bit pricy for what you get!!!!
