"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. This Las Vegas hotel pays homage to one of Europe's most lavish sites, but its new restaurants, bars, entertainers and penthouse-level boutique HOTEL32 mean you can use the words "opulent" and "swanky" in the same breath. I upgraded my room to a non-smoking "Monaco Suite"....not worth it at all. My "strip view" was a view of the top a building, Ross,Walgreens, and CVS. They wanted to give me a strip view from the 3rd floor...that would not be a view at all. So I had to get a "smoking floor" room, with a terrible view of the strip, and it was a handicapped room. That was all they had available to acccomodate me with.

Not worth it
We chose this hotel because of the price, but truthfully it was not worth it and it ruined our experience. To start during checking in, we had to return to the lobby three times to ask for another room because they were all dirty. Not one time did the staff apologize for the mistake. The rooms and furniture are outdated and small. They still have the bulky TVs. The cleaning was mediocre at best. But the topper to this, was that during one of our last nights, while we were sleeping someone used their key gain access to our room. This man stood in our hallway for 5 seconds before he realized he was in the wrong room. I cannot explain how freaked out we were. Front desk gave no explanation and did nothing to make us feel better, other than to tell us to use the deadbolt - Gee, Thanks for the tip?!?! Overall, a terrible experience.

Horrible
The hotel piped in air fresher that was nasty. The service was bad. Things in the room broke. The furniture was falling apart. I do not recommend!

High Rollin'
Needs improvement
Where do I start? Didn't get the room I wanted. When I did, the tub was plugged up, the towels smelled like burnt French Toast (all 3 days). Trash from previous guest was on the ground, the alarm clock didn't work except to ring at 5AM w/o being able to turn off. The restaurants in the place were closed "drinks you cannot remember having" was a good slogan since the place was closed all four days we were there. McD, Starbucks, etc were $2 more than the one on the streets. Overall, not as good as other hotels on the strip.

Once is enough
The overall scent was almost unbearable. Restraunts not open long enough. Food court saved us. Elevators didn't work for lengthy periods of time. Maids were VERY noisy. Could here adjacent room noises. VERY LOUD overall. Overall, an air of arrogance and buffet staff VERY rude. Very limited english speaking employees.

very disappointing to put it mildly
was booked for a delux room with strip view - upon check in was told that they did not have a delux room with strip view since the hotel was booked to capacity - ended up on the 3rd floor with side view in a room that was very dated with a small bathroom (no extra counter for cosmetics) no coffee maker, no fridge .... I will never stay there again

Rundown room with good location
Went to Vegas for a shor trip. Read reviews about diff hotels and seems like MC is good. Location is good, staff is nice, however,our first room has a broken toilet bowl and it wouldn't flush! I cant image how they checked and cleaned the room, or did they even bother to clean the toilet bowl before they list this room? The staff is nice and quick enough to get me another room, though. THen another problem, the room has no coffee maker. I kinda wanted to have some hot tea or coffee at night, and the ONLY way I can get it is to PAY. I called room service and they charges about $5 for 0.5L hot water. THINK B4 YOU BOOK.

not worth it.
Went for a weekend to surprise my sister for her 30th birthday. My brother inlaw picked this hotel for convenience but I thought it must be nice as well. Not at all. We checked in and went to our room and immediately had a knock on the door. Two security personnel looking for shirts that someone thought they left. After an awkward search they left and I went out looking for drinks leaving my girlfriend alone in the room to stretch and relax after the flight in. While in the bathroom a housekeeper came barging in since she left a pair of pillowcases behind and quickly apologized for not knocking? Not knocking! The tv was a piece of junk and the casino lousy. They get one star since my girl enjoyed her deep tissue massage. Will not return here!

I was very disappointed in this hotel. The hotel has not done any improvements in years and it shows. The food was great at Brand and D.Vino. We saw Frank Caliendo who is just finishing his contract with Monte Carlo. You could tell by way he did his show he didn't want to be there. We love Vegas but will not stay there again.
