NYers are always hard to please, but not this time!
My newlywed husband & I enjoyed our stay so much we booked for another day. The Hotel, Casino & Restaurants were amazing! We actually had our wedding night dinner inside the Luxor at Tender! The 1 big thing we did NOT like was that for 3 days straight we called & called for room service with linen changes only to return to the same messy room we left.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Always take EVERY single coupon book they hand you, it'll save you LOTS of $$ on your trip & make sure that if the hotel is buddied up with another 1 like the Luxor was with Mandalay Bay & the Excalibur you take full advantage of it. We bought most of our souvenirs at night before heading out on the town right in these hotels.

Overrated
The bathroom vanity had not been cleaned and a false eyelash was found from the previous tenant. The window leaked as it was raining. The fan was noisy and dirty in the bathroom. The shower needs re-caulking. The carpet in the hallway needs to be re-stretched and is a big trip hazard. You have people in the casino trying to sell time shares and in your face every time you were there. You have to go through the whole casino from the parking lot to get to check-in. The place is over-priced in the condition that it is in.

Very nice 3 day stay on the Vegas strip.
From check in to check out nothing but positive. Luxor Hotel features several restaurants and lounges, from high end to carry out. It has an all night Deli and also an all night store for items forgotten on the trip. The pyramid layout is awesome and the "Egyptian ruins theme" is all through the place. #fantastic#. Personnel we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast buffet was excellent. There were pay fax's and printers at the public phones if you wanted them..Nice large pool. As a casino #slot machines# It was below average. All machines were linked to the other MGM casinos where payouts seemed to be better. Many machineswere constantly broken or jamming. Not that many machines and any that did pay at all were impossible to get. Most people playing the slots were first time guests like me and did not know any better. There are much looser slots on the strip but they are a trek to get to because Luxor is on the end of the strip. As a Hotel to see the sights from and relax in between excursions," you can not get a better place." If you are staying there for the gambling you can do much better than the Luxor. I saw NO handpays while I was there.

Long walk from hotel
Bring your car or stay somewhere else if you want to see the strip. Luxor only has airport shuttles or taxis. There is a monorail to MGM then you can get the tram that serves the strip but it is an ordeal and. helpful signs are almost non existant.

If you like Las Vegas
I'm not a fan of Las Vegas. I don't like being forced to walk thru acres of noisy, smoke-filled casino and retail space just to get to the elevator to take me up to my room. However, all the medium priced hotels in downtown Las Vegas have this annoying layout. But once I was in my room, the experience was great. I also really appreciate that the parking and internet are FREE.

I booked this room last minute. We were staying at a hotel the nite prior & the air & hotel were so dirty, I booked at the Luxor at 2am that morning! It was a great value as we booked on Sunday & it is connected with Mandalay & Excalibur with tons of shops & restaurants! We definetely will stay again!

Wonderful Stay
Had a very nice, comfortable stay here. The room was clean and very quiet. It's at the far end of the strip so it's not perfectly centrally located. The elevators in the pyramid are bizarre - you travel at some angle.
