Great value for location
Easy checkin/checkout. Nice room right on the strip at excellent price. Elevators a bit disorienting, since they ascend at an angle along pyramid shaped bldg. Free tram connects to Excaliber and Mandalay Bay. Hard to beat for the price.

Stayed Wednesday and Thursday. Not heavily crowded. Pretty clean air for Vegas. Not many smokers and some smoke free zones which was nice. Easy to get around the casino. Saw Chris Angel. Must see. Coupon for 40% off at check in. Overall a nice stay.

Good and bad
Our requested room was a king pyramid room. Upon arrival at 11:30 p.m. a two queen pyramid room was only available. Understanding that this happens we expressed our disappointment and were quickly upgraded to a king room in the west tower. Great! However, no sooner did we schlep our bags to the room did we discover that judging from the towels placed at the base of the toilet soaking up water from a leaky toilet that the maintenance staff must not have gotten to repairing said toilet quite yet. **sigh** Contacting the front desk we were immediately upgraded to a players suite in the east tower! And honestly the room was lovely. Clean, well appointed with a soft comfy bed, a huge and deep bathtub as well as a shower and a great sunrise view over the mountains. We spent three nights in this room and were perfectly content until we returned from a long day of walking and sightseeing to an overwhelming smell of some sort of resin or epoxy that had been used in maintenance of the room above. I mean instant headache, make you dizzy smell. Again, called the front desk. . .they were willing to switch our room but wanted to send someone from housekeeping up to spray air freshener first. What? The smell was so very strong that we would have been afraid to add anymore chemicals to the mix! After a few more phone calls we finally managed a room change. So, with about 12 hours to go in our stay we were, yet again, upgraded to a two room suite! Although the upgrades were quick we really were very underwhelmed with the overall attitude of the staff. We were polite yet firm with each incident and the general response back was "upgrade to shut them up". In more general interactions in this hotel, such as getting oriented to the very large structure, the staff that didn't receive tips for a living was either purposely unhelpful or were willing to be helpful but honestly did not know how to get around their workplace! We realize they book thousands upon thousands of people in this hotel rooms at any time in Las Vegas but their disdain of humanity at this hotel was very apparent.

If you want a variety of food at a good price go for the "take 2" offer at the Luxor and Excalibur buffets. For $35 dollars you can go as many times a day as you wish to either buffet. Quality food and a value.

Could get better....
The hotel charged extra for the internet facilities in the room. However, the internet was in the form of direct cable connection, and not wifi. I could not connect to the internet as I had a tablet, not a laptop. The location is on one side of the Strip. It would be fine if enough guidance was provided to the guests about how to get around the Strip. There were trams, and inter-connected walkways between different hotels and casinos, but the information was lacking. I figured this out, but only around the end of my visit.

ABr staff not polite
Bar staff was not very polite at all. Other than that it was OK. They also didn't have WiFI capabilities though.

end of the strip means lots of walking every day
4 star hotel didn't have a coffee maker, frig or safe because they want you to spend extra money with them, also a 21.00 resort fee each day. Check in/out, to/from airport and shows in hotel were all great. We never used the 30.00 dining coupon because it could only be used at the 39.00 steak restaurants for diner and we were always up the strip near our shows by then.

Great Hotel
This was our first stay in Vegas, so chosing a hotel was already a gamble. We decided to go for something more special and chose the Luxor. Coming from the self parking parking lot, it is extremely confusing and hard not to get lost within the building. But with the help of the extremely friendly staff we managed to check in. Our room was even better than expected (I think we got an upgrade). In the evening we had a look at a bunch of other hotels but already decided that we will probably book the luxor again if we go back, since it wasnt as crowded as New York New York, but also not as fancy (but also extremely crowded) Bellagio. I guess it really depends on your own taste. We loved it.

GOOD DEAL FOR THE PRICE
THOUGHT THE LUXOR WAS A GOOD DEAL FOR THE PRICE. AT THE END OF THE STRIP BUT WITH THE BUS SYSTEM YOU COULD GET TO ANYTHING YOU WANTED TO GO TO. NO INTERNET ACESS THAT SEEMED A CHEAP TO ME BUT WERE FROM THE MIDWEST AND THAT JUST COMES WITH THE ROOMS!
