The Luxor might not be the oldest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, but built in the shape of an Egyptian-style pyramid with a fully-intact stone Sphinx out front, it has a character all its own -as well as being the sixth-largest hotel in the world. Renovated in 2008, Luxor Hotel Las Vegas hosts world-class performers like magician Criss Angel, and features a sky bridge jam-packed with upscale boutiques. Dream of ancient civilizations as you float past pillars in the hotel's oasis-like pools, before hitting the dance floor at the LAX Nightclub. Don't want to miss the game while you're working your way through the drinks menu? The Playbar lets guests keep updated with the latest plays and scores while they sip.

West coast trippers

We stayed at the Luxor with our 2 teenaged boys. We waited to check in for about 20 minutes. When we arrived at the room, there were 2 shower towels and no hand towels or washcloths. The hotel was easy to navigate and beds were comfortable. Not sure why they can't provide wi-fi or a small fridge in the room. Our stay was just ok.

close to the centre

Close to the centre. Missing a little nice view - we could see nothing outside. Nice hotel, building looks nice but when we compared room's standard to our last motel - the difference wasn't big.

Our Stay @ The Luxor

Our experience was very good, a couple of no no's just for the pool water being a little foggy and no Wi-Fi in the rooms, The hotel is getting a little old now, but if your on a budget its a very good choice, even though its on the far south, still everything is close to it, have fun and see you next year......

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Hotel room was alwright, I look at the window it was really dusty you can see some yellow on it. The toilet seat can't even stay up. The walk to the room was a long one cause it is a 4 corner pymarid, and you need to get to the one elevator that was assaign to you just to get to your room. Customer service is very lost there before I check out I ask what time will the jabbawockeez store will be open some say 9,10 or they open weird hrs, they don't have a clue!!!! What a joke. If they offer you cheap 10.00 ticket to see a show don't take it unless you want to spend 4hrs listening to people talk about time share? Cujstomer service told me when i get my ticket i can sit anywhere but the first 2 row and when i got my vocher redeem it for the ticket i got the top back corner row. That is what the ticket is for I was lied to by customer service. Will not be staying there anymore. Not good to be lied too.

Impressive Architecture

The hotel was overwhelmingly huge once we stepped inside and we took a while to look around before checking in. The check in offered the next surprise, as we had to pay an early check in fee. I only fully understood that fee at check out when I got the receipt, because the guy had a pretty heavy accent and I'm not a native speaker. In the end, it was better to check in early because the lines were quite short, but 20 bucks per room seems a bit steep. The rooms are big and nicely furnished, beds are comfortable, and the bathroom spacious and clean. Only downside for us was that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms (we had only one laptop to use the cable). The lobby/atrium Wi-Fi reached into the rooms but the connection was unstable except in the bathroom. So, there is internet in the rooms, but I don't see why they don't put a few routers up in the middle of the hotel that cover the upper floors. The architecture of the building should make it fairly easy. Overall, it was a nice stay with only little downsides. Now that I know of those, I would still recommend staying here.

Get your LUX on!!!

The hotel is beautiful outside and inside. The staff was very polite and the food was great. My wife and I went to Vegas for our honeymoon. It took is ten years of marriage to finally have a honeymoon and the Luxor helped me make it memorable. My only complaint was the air not cooling the entire room. I was advised that the sun beating on all four sides of the pyramid causes the units to work harder. I was satisfied with that explanation, but the staff member offered to move my room and luggage to the towers. I of course respectfully declined. The views were amazing from my room. The pool was great also to cool down and have a drink. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Tips: -Buffets are cheaper than eating out every night. -GO SEE THE JABBAWOCKEEZ SHOW!!!!!! -Grab a FREE cup of water from the hotel bars. -Buy the $8 all day bus pass. -Cabs will charge two different fares for the same length of travel. (Use sparingly) -Don't gamble Fri-Mon. You have a better chance of winning on Tues and Wednesday on slots. -GO SEE THE JABBAWOCKEEZ SHOW!!!!! -Siegfried is known to roam the grounds of his attraction at the Mirage. Great photo op and he conversates with you before and after your photo. -If someone asks how long you are staying or if you want free show tickets. They are timeshare sales people. Don't waste two hours like we did for bogus "gifts".

Good price, location but lacks certain comforts

The price was right, rooms were nice and clean, but they shut the water off for 5 hours during the night, the A/C did a horrible job cooling the room (and there was no way to fix it), and I wasn't able to valet the car for the duration of my stay because it was always full (even for hotel guests). Lots of fun things to do at the hotel, but I probably would not stay again.
