The Luxor might not be the oldest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, but built in the shape of an Egyptian-style pyramid with a fully-intact stone Sphinx out front, it has a character all its own -as well as being the sixth-largest hotel in the world. Renovated in 2008, Luxor Hotel Las Vegas hosts world-class performers like magician Criss Angel, and features a sky bridge jam-packed with upscale boutiques. Dream of ancient civilizations as you float past pillars in the hotel's oasis-like pools, before hitting the dance floor at the LAX Nightclub. Don't want to miss the game while you're working your way through the drinks menu? The Playbar lets guests keep updated with the latest plays and scores while they sip.

Our Stay @ The Luxor

Our experience was very good, a couple of no no's just for the pool water being a little foggy and no Wi-Fi in the rooms, The hotel is getting a little old now, but if your on a budget its a very good choice, even though its on the far south, still everything is close to it, have fun and see you next year......

Good price, location but lacks certain comforts

The price was right, rooms were nice and clean, but they shut the water off for 5 hours during the night, the A/C did a horrible job cooling the room (and there was no way to fix it), and I wasn't able to valet the car for the duration of my stay because it was always full (even for hotel guests). Lots of fun things to do at the hotel, but I probably would not stay again.

Nice inside atmosphere. Good shows & location

Once I was placed in an acceptable room, the hotel experience was ok. 1st non-smoking room smelled like smoke, second has A/C issues, third was good. Took 90 minutes to finally get into 3rd room from the time I arrived at hotel.

Don't count the old pyramid out

Great location

Stayed at Luxor because MGM was very expensive this year. We really enjoyed it! The rooms were nice, and a really good size. The hotel had a lot of good food (24 hour deli? Yes, please...) and we also enjoyed the casino area. Great location if you want to go over to Mandalay Bay at any point! There is an enclosed walkway between the hotels. We did not get a chance to check out the pool at Luxor, but it looked really nice. Finally, we went to Lax (the club in Luxor... Or maybe it was Lux?), and while it was nothing special, they did play a lot of awesome hip hop, and the DJ even took my requests. All in all, a good place to stay.

Great first time at the Luxor!

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, and convenient places to eat and grab a beverage before heading out on the Strip. The only thing that could have made it better would be if the elevator was closer to our room (it was quite a trek we had to make each time). Also, the paint chips that rubbed off in the pool were kind of gross, but we overlooked that to stay cool!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Keep in mind that the Luxor is at the very south end of the Strip, so it can take a while to walk places. New York New York, Excalibur, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay are within comfortable walking distance, but anything beyond that is a bit of a trek and you may want to take a cab.

A night at the Luxor

Comfortable and clean. At the extreme end of the strip so more walking. Limited eating choices, but easy access to many more next door at the Luxor. Friendly staff. Pay extra for EVERYTHING. $6.95 just to print my airline boarding pass for return trip.
