Good location

Great location, nice hotel. Self Parking in the back is not entirely obvious especially if you are coming in at night. The sign blends in with the building. The room was fine- could have used more light but maybe they don't want too much light because it messes up the exterior look of the pyramid. Also close to the airport.

Girl's Night Out

Very happy with this hotel! Rooms were spacious (stayed in a Tower Double Queen) and very clean. Beds were firm with just the right amount of softness and sheets felt great--higher thread count and not like your standard scratchy hotel sheets. Bathroom was beautiful with separate bath from shower--loved the shower (spacious with glass door and half glass wall looking over to bath). The two things lacking were a fridge, which would have cost an additional $25, and a coffeemaker. I found the staff at the desks rather lacking--they didn't volunteer any additional information when I asked questions and had to keep asking for more details (specifically about getting around, transportation, etc.) The three pool area was really nice (had a great view of it from my room) but didn't know until I got out there and spotted the hot-tub that the "cabana" area and hot-tub were reserved for certain guests or those who payed more. Also thought the pools should stay open later than 6 p.m.! Loved all the Egyptian decor, and of course, the pyramid and sphinx were especially spectacular. Location wise it worked well for me as all the shows I saw were either at the hotel or the hotels on either side and were an easy walk. Overall, very pleased with this great deal!

My girlfriends and I bought our tickets in advance for one of the shows at the hotel, but when we checked in discovered they handed out a coupon book with $5 discounts on tickets the shows in the Luxor (though we knew we had good tickets by booking in advance.)

Lux at the LUXOR

As a frequent LV visitor, all we required was an adequate hotel with easy access to The Strip. It has a tram link to the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Excalibur (the other side). Walking distance to the MGM Grand, New York and several others. Pool area opens at 9am until 6pm, so this will keep you out of the casino for a few hours. As part of the MGM chain, it has a club called M-Life. Play in any of the MGM casino's using your M-life card and you earn rewards towards your stay. e.g. in 14 days, we charged 6 sets of 2 person buffets to our room (from any of the MGM hotels) and our rewards payed for them all. Shows can be bought at any Hotel location, or, in any of the many ticket booths on the 'Strip'. Are they cheaper than on line - well that depends on how many they have. I would buy in Vegas, if too expensive see another show! Where else in the World can you spend days and days just walking in and out of hotels - without gambling!! Enjoy.

Can not beat offers at any of the MGM buffets. Eat all day for a set amount of dollars. Eat in any of 3 buffets fo a set amount of dollars. So breakfast in one hotel, lunch in another and finally evening meal in a third. Bargain

Luxor is showing its age badly

Hotel is a two star and has not wifi without a cord in the rooms. No way to make your Ipad work without wireless. Our room never got cooled off in April so we had to move to a new room for better AC. People were friendly and the building was clean in. Saw Chris Angels show and it was one of the better magic shows in Vegas right there ate the Luxor. Pool was nice and Buffett was average.

We loved our room. We ate at the Tender steak house and were VERY disappointed with our $46 steak that was like chewing shoe leather. We were also constantly approached for time shares which got very old.
