They should take away a star from the 3-star rated hotel

We did not have a good experience at Harrah's. We had to change rooms once because the bed was so firm it felt like we were sleeping on the floor. Not to mention we were on the pet floor (w/o a pet) and it was a bit smelly. The new room had a more comfy bed but we had to call maintenance 5 times! The tv turned on in the middle of the night or turned off in the middle of viewing. The air stopped working and it was a 80+ degree day. ANd this was the newly renovated Mardi Gras tower! Will never stay at Harrah's again.

Harrah's

There was food crumbs on floor next to bed when we checked in and a bottle cap under desk. These items stayed on the floor our entire stay! I guess maid service does not vacuum rooms anymore? And no I did not leave a tip for the maid. The thermostat would not adjust from the set temp. Other than this the room was ok.

Good location - Not so good ammenities

Be prepared to pay extra for amenities. Need to pay minimum $5 to print out boarding passes! Bottled water was $5. Need to get some outside the hotel for reasonable price on drinking water. Arrived to long lines at check-in; did not get room requested (1 king), had to take 2 queen beds. Booked room under "free wifi", but no instructions on how to access in the room. Tried calling front deck, but always got a busy signal (over an 8 hour period). Finally connected with housekeeping person who transferred phone call to front desk, I let phone ring about 20-25 times before someone picked up the phone. Turned out I needed to log onto their wifi system as if i would "charge to the room" and was promised no added fees would be charged. A simple sign or note at check in would have worked. Made a bad impression on the first day of a 4 night stay.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

If you need any personal items while on the Vegas strip (but don't have a car), there is a Walgreens located off the street by the Venetian (close walk from Harrah's). That's where we got drinking water at reasonable price.

Harrah's in Vegas

Besides this hotel being in the middle of vegas Strip, there is very little positive to write about. Our room was very dirty, pillows were terrible, shower did not open and closed properly (had to call maintenance people first day). Hotel did not provide a small freez or a microwave to warm any food or store daily products such as milk for early morning coffee. I would try Mirage during our next trip.

Pleasant getaway

The staff was excellent. We ordered room service and found the breakfast omelet delicious. However, the pre-made sandwiches brought up for dinner were stale. Beds were very comfortable. The Honey Pumpkin Fluff pedicure with Michelle was divine!

Great location on strip

The location of Harrah's would be tough to beat. They are right in the middle of the strip and the action. Check in was slow and the staff at check in seemed bored and like they'd rather be anywhere else. The food court there is nice and has lots of options but the restauratnt selection at Harrah's is not that great. The room had a non functioning mini bar and no fridge or coffee pot which seem to be just basic ammenities for any room. The hallway walking to the room had really bad looking carpet. It was stained and fraying and wrinkled like it needed to be stretched. It gave me the feeling that the hotel is past its prime.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Stay at a hotel Like Rio which is technically off the strip. It's a little cheaper and has a lot to offer. Also, rent a car and go to some things off the strip. Check out the Spa at Lakeside if you want a great day of pampering in a gorgeous setting for a LOT less than anywhere on the strip. Also be sure to check out the Freemont Street Experience. If you love slots, be sure to go to Freemont for better pay outs!

Overall a good experience

Hotel not updated and room not as clean as others. Staff very friendly and location is perfect! If you're not planning on staying in your room much (which most going to Vegas would not) this hotel was pretty good for what you pay. I would recommend for the price! :)

Perfect spot on the vegas strip

This was our second time staying at this hotel and for the money and location on the strip it doesn't get much better. They have everything that you need, and if you sign up for their rewards program you are able to check in four hours earlier with no fees. The check in time was 4pm and we arrived a little before 11am and were able to go straight to our room. Thank you, we will be back.

Bad Choice

staff impolite at check-in. Not willing to spend an additional fifty dollars a night, so we were given a room that had a shower head coming out of wall, tub faucet dripped all night, dresser drawers were broken, and the refrigerator was removed. When asked for a different room we were told there were none available. Will not return.
