Back inside, the 45,000 square-foot-casino draws gamers to its popular slot and video poker machines, table games, race and sports book and poker room. The Golden Nugget also offers select retail (including a jewelry shop and high-end boutique apparel), an arcade and a golf concierge. Cabanas and daybeds at both the Golden Nugget and Hideout pools are available for a fee. Free self- and valet parking is available.

Hotel Has Been
In it's day this was probably a nice place. However, we had mold in the bathroom around the tub at the floor and in the corners of the tub/tile area. Most hotels these days have a coffee maker in the room...not this one and a pot of coffe from room service is about 15$. Also, we ate breakfast at the hotel dining room and asked for hash browns. Both of us got hash browns that were so done we couldn't chew them. They were as if they took yesterday's hashbrowns and threw them back in some oil to reheat. On a couple of occasions we had people trying to scam us in the hotel lobby. During one evening we were in the casion playing the slots and someone ran in off of the street with the police chasing him. When the officer tried to stop him he hit her and she tazed him to the floor. All this inside the casino.

Never Stay there again!
Went to eat at the buffet for dinner and the food tasted like cardboard and was dried out and stale. At $21 a person I expected better and fresher qualtiy food. They were doing construction outside the hotel and had equipment going all night that kept us awake. Beds were a bit lumpy. Rooms looked nice otherwise. We paid for intenet connection and it didn't work. They eventually had to send a tech to room to get it working, but that was 8 hours later then when we needed it. This was a businees trip and I will stay at another hotel next time. Only nice thing was the bell hops. They were friendly and helpful.

Short walk from hotel
Went to watch the night light show on the strip just outside the hotel doors and it was nice. They also had live music playing on friday night. It was one of the only bright spots in this business trip.

two night stay
this hotel cannot have a 4 star rating - probably if you book a luxury room it would be - but terrible accomodations for the bargain room. The only good thing was the pool - bad part not open until 10:00 am and closed at 8:00 pm so that if you go out during the day and come back late kids can't swim again. When the first room did not have a working air conditioner I did go down to ask for another room (this was after waiting for hours for the air to cool the room). The clerk said that she would give me a new room and that it would be upgraded for my inconvenience in having to move. The 2nd room was filthy as stated above. Also the 2 beds are advertised as queen beds but they are only full size.

Very Disappointed with Access Insurance
I was unable to stay at hotel due to missing my flight due to severe ice on roads in Charlotte, NC. I called the hotel to cancel and I was told to call Access, the trip insurance carrier. When I spoke to Access they would not do anything to reimburse me. Even though Air Tran Airlines gave me a credit of $285.30 to use on another flight. If the airlines was willing to give me a credit even though I was a "no show", I would believe that I should have been compensated by the insurance company both for my hotel and the shuttle service I was not able to use. Clearly the airlines understood the severe road conditions we had in Charlotte. So, I am not happy with the travel insurance and probably not take it if offered by Access.

Very poor service and dirty bath room
This was our third year in a row to stay here, but this stay was very poor. The staff did not care about our needs. The bath room and linens were very dirty. Finally the Casino manager was successful in getting our room cleaned. POOR SERVICE.

Messed up our bookings, poor service
We arrived at 11:45pm, they said they didn't have our bookings for the night. Staff tried to blame it on us making the bookings incorrectly. Upon insisting that they messed up, the manager took 30 minutes to called [...] and confirmed that we reserved for the night and paid for the rooms already. Then the manager said they were sold out for the night and spent another hour to get 2 rooms ready for us. Ended up we got smoking room instead as they said they ran out of non-smoking room. Staffs weren't geniune in admitting their mistakes. When we spoke with the front desk staff more, we found out they messed up bookings from [...] regularly because they have problems downloading information from [...] into their system.
