Great Family Trip

I spent a good time with my family .Having the kitchen fully stocked made everything even better. We were able to save lots of money by making our own food at the hotel. We have been to Vegas many times, and didn't want to eat at the expensive hotels. The facility was nice, it is a little bit old but totally worth the price.

Best stay in Vegas EVER!!!!

I have been going to Vegas for the past 16 years for a trade show and always stayed in Casino Hotels, I had a sales meeting last year in one of the rooms at the Dessert Rose and liked what I had seen. So when booking my trip this year I decided to stay there. All I can say is that I will be returning for the next few years. Clean comfortable rooms Great free WiFi provided by AT&T Great pool area and fitness room Kitchen with full size fridge and all the pots, pans and dishes you need to feel like your at home. We checked in and headed over to a supermarket and avoided all the little expenses like coffee, breakfast and cold bottled by having everything in our room. The pool area was a quiet family friendly area and the entire stay was great we were there for 5 nights and looking to stay a little long next year. The money we saved by being able to dine in a couple of nights will off set the cost of the stay. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with our stay.

Tried and True - We Keep Going Back

My wife and I have stayed here five times and the reasons are value and comfort. The complimentary breakfast & starbucks coffee all day + the full kitchen and 1 bedroom suite means that after a late night out we can sleep in without scrambling to find a breakfast restaurant. Value this places really delivers as we make a habit of doing a small grocery stop and get snacks, extra breakfast supplies, lunch foods and drinks - meaning we eat well all day inexpensively and then splurge on nice dinners out. The location is solid, being a 5 minute walk to MGM and the monorail, the pool is sufficient, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Its also nice to not have a casino where you stay (since you'll be seeing plenty as is) and the rooms and buildings are very nice and in great condition. There's a reason its rated so high!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

If travelling light, when cabbing from the airport, go first to the Vons on Tropicana and S Marlyand. Do a 15 minute shop for drinks, snacks, a few breakfast and lunch staples, and then call a 2nd cab for the final stretch to the hotel. Saves money on meals & drinks and saves a second cab trip for groceries!

Great for families

I've stayed here before and enjoyed it, so we booked with them again. The continental breakfasts are delicious and Starbucks coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby. The pool is clean and the staff is very friendly. Location is good. Not too far from the strip. This time I was a little disapointed with the cleanliness of the carpet. My daughter just turned 1 and is crawling. Of course I couldn't hold her for 24 hours a day so I had to set her down. After 2 min of crawling her hands, feet and knees were black from the carpet. We immediately gave her a bath and never set her back down. I know hotel carpets are not clean, but this was beyond dirty.

You can save a lot of money by taking advantage of the kitchen and buying drinks and snacks. There was a Target not too far and a few grocery stores.

excellent fit

We were traveling with teenagers and the Desert Rose Resort provided a wonderful mix of being close to the action but not in the mix of everything all the time. The units had wonderful space and the staff was wonderful. If we return again I would stay here again!

Great comfortable suites

Very nice quiet place in Vegas! The pool is a bit small but the rooms were very comfortable and it was close walking to all kinds of places. We do recommend eatting at the Firefly, a great place for Tapas with fantastic food. THe breakfast was okay and happy hour was also a nice.

Fantastic property

wonderful, easy to find location near the strip and the airport. Complimentary Starbuck's coffee a plus! Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and well kept property. Lots of security onsite. Enjoyed being away from the casinos. Some noise, was primarily because we had an outside corner unit (2BR, 2 BA). Workout facility needed an update.

Be sure to see the Beatles "LOVE" at the Mirage - a Cirque du Soille production. Excellent! Also the Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur was very good - concierge has discount tickets.

The Quiet, The Relaxing, The Friendly

Our stay at the Desert Rose was meant to be just a place to sleep at night. We were traveling with our adult son-in-law and daughter, It was there first trip to Las Vegas. We didn't get the chance to enjoy the fully benefits of this time share condo complex. However the staff was exceptional. We arrived at 2:15AM in the morning. The desk clerk cheerfully registered us, contacted the grounds security to meet us at the parking area near our room, and walked us out the door and directed us around to the unit our room was in. As several of the entrances to the parking areas are secured at night, the guard met us as the entrance to the parking area with flashlight in hand. The Continental breakfast was simple and limited but varied each day. There was Starbuck's coffee for my coffee afficianado son. The pool area was fairly large and most inviting and many guests availed themselves relaxing there. The property's location is just off the southern end of the Strip near the MGM Grand, the Luxor, and the Mandalay Bay resorts among others. It was also within a short half block walk to a Catholic church. The rooms were very clean and tasteful and had a full kitchen and utensils. Most rooms had balconies. Ours was a ground floor unit that opened to a central secluded courtyard. We would gladly stay at the Desert Rose again.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

There is a RTA transit kiosk near the MGM Grand. The bus passes for 1 day to one week are a relative bargain, as you may ride the various buses as often as you like. Most visitors like us travel mostly up and down the Strip. The buses run every 10-15 minutes most of the day, and all night but at longer intervals. There is a large parking garage that is free at Planet Hollywood with easy access to "Miracle Mile Shops."

Great Stay

Very friendly service, great housekeeping and nice rooms for a older hotel. Hotel staff was always on the move keeping everything clean and stocked. This is the first place I have ever stayed that I actually felt that the sheets & blankets for the pull out were actually new, clean sheets. The only draw back for me was the 1 very small restroom & vanity area that had no door to seperate it from the actual sleeping area. This hotel is also in a great location. If you are bringing kids this is a great hotel...no big casino to drag the kids through. I would highly recommend this hotel.
